Trump lashes out at Republicans in bizarre campaign video
Donald Trump put out a strange Truth Social clip wherein he attacked some of the Republican candidates who are polling between 0% and 2%. Trump said, “Many say, don't punch down when talking about people like Chris Sununu or sloppy Chris Christie or Ada Hutchinson. I call him ‘Ada’ not ‘Asa’ because of certain reasons or others, but sometimes it's necessary to talk badly about those that for no reason, other than politics, speak badly about you. Otherwise, the people that love you don't know whether or not they're for real. Are they saying the truth? They're not. So sometimes you have to punch down and you have to say what's happening, otherwise, they won't understand. It's not fair to them. You have to put them in proper perspective. These bad people, you have to put them in their place. People like this are very destructive and you have to tell the voters what it's all about. Otherwise, why should they be able to understand it? Thank you very much.” Despite the bizarre rambling nature of the message, there’s a strategic reason for Trump doing this. The recent federal indictment has caused him to drop a few points in the polls, so the former president wants to attack these low-polling candidates while he’s vulnerable and prevent any one of them from rising up.
DeSantis SQUIRMS when asked about supporting Trump
Ron DeSantis was asked during a recent press conference whether he would support Donald Trump if Trump wins the 2024 Republican primary. DeSantis avoided giving a direct answer and instead deflected to talking about his handling of the pandemic. The context was Trump comparing New York’s COVID approach to Florida’s. A visibly nervous DeSantis said, “Well, I would say this. When you are saying that Cuomo did better on COVID than Florida did and you are revealing yourself to just be full of it, nobody believes that.“ DeSantis had an opportunity to directly go after Trump here but he passed on it once again. If the Florida Governor keeps taking this approach, he’s likely not going to catch up to Trump in the polls, as he’s around 30 points behind. The truth is that DeSantis will likely ultimately support Trump if he becomes the nominee against Biden, just as most Republicans did in 2016.

Trump IMPLODES on COVID vaccine question
During a Fox News interview with Bret Baier, Donald Trump struggled to reconcile his desire to take credit for the development of the COVID vaccine with the fact that many of his followers hold conspiracy theories about the vaccine. Trump, known for seeking applause and exaggerating his achievements, found himself torn between wanting recognition and avoiding upsetting his base. As he put it, “It's not a great thing to talk about because for some reason it's just not . . . for some reason because people love the vaccines and people hate the vaccines.” Clearly, this topic is a weakness for Trump among the Republican electorate. Ron DeSantis has capitalized on this issue by criticizing Trump for being too aligned with Dr. Anthony Fauci and supporting vaccines and mandates. Trump may be forced to distance himself from his previous stance on vaccines to maintain support, potentially pushing the public in an even more anti-science direction.

Fox Hosts get massively triggered as co-host shares facts
In a panel discussion on Fox News, Jessica Tarlov refuted the idea that Hunter Biden was treated better than Donald Trump by federal prosecutors and the justice system. Tarlov compared Hunter Biden's case and that of Roger Stone, pointing out that Stone evaded taxes on a larger scale but faced no criminal charges and only had to repay the owed amount. Then speaking about the deferred gun charge, Tarlov said “In 2019, there were 298 cases brought of people falsifying their gun application records out of 27 million background checks that were completed. That's the year that Hunter Biden got that weapon. That means that this is something that doesn't get charged.” The other members of “The Five” had to resort to interrupting and nitpicking because they didn’t have a reasonable response to Tarlov’s points. Rarely is such a cogent argument made on the airwaves of Fox News.

What do Hunter Biden's personal problems have to do with his father? Are they suggesting that Biden is "doing a bad job" because his son has substance-abuse problems? Many families have relatives who are either alcoholics or recovering alcholics. This is the same thing as substance-abuse. Why should any of us be required to apologize for a relative of ours with this problem? What business is it of ours? It is a personal family issue that should not have to be shared with strangers. I don't get it.
