Trump sets up insanity defense, admits to crimes in worst interview ever
In a recent interview with NBC's Kristen Welker, former President Donald Trump took an unprecedented turn by seemingly laying the groundwork for an insanity defense in his upcoming criminal trials and openly admitting to crimes. When asked about the possibility of facing jail time, Trump confidently stated he doesn't worry, asserting he's “built differently.” The interview took a surreal twist as Trump claimed responsibility for orchestrating efforts to overturn the election results, hinting at a potential pardon for Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, who was recently sentenced to 22 years in prison. Trump also made unfounded allegations about Nancy Pelosi's role in the January 6th Capitol attack response. Speaking about the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, Trump tried to fearmonger and appeal to his base by lying about how Democrats are in favor of “post-birth abortions.” The appearance concluded with Trump making unrelated remarks about Joe Biden's alleged falsehoods, sidestepping the countless lies that he told in that very same interview.
"Christian" Lauren Boebert publicly fondles drag host's genitals
In a bizarre turn of events, Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has been caught in a scandal where she was seen publicly fondling the genitals of her date, who happens to be the host of gay drag shows at a bar he owns. This incident has sparked controversy given Boebert's staunch advocacy for pro-family values and her concerns about the moral fabric of the United States. The incident happened during a performance of "Beetlejuice" in Denver, Colorado. Boebert was kicked out of the theater for disruptive behavior, including vaping and videotaping the show. The congresswoman’s defense is that she was merely being eccentric, but video evidence reveals much more than just eccentricity. The controversy underscores the disconnect between the rhetoric of some conservative politicians and their actions, leaving many to question their credibility and fitness for legislative roles. Boebert’s opponent in Colorado, Adam Frisch, nearly defeated her in 2022, and voters will have another chance to decide in the November 2024 rematch who they want to be their congressperson.
From over the weekend:
Biden makes Iran deal, Republicans flip out
President Joe Biden's decision to advance a prisoner swap deal with Iran and release $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds has triggered both support and criticism. The deal involves the release of five American citizens detained in Iran in exchange for the release of Iranian funds frozen in South Korea, facilitated by a U.S. sanctions waiver. Supporters argue that this move addresses humanitarian concerns and signals a preference for diplomacy over military action, potentially rebuilding trust after the Trump administration abandoned the previous Iran deal. However, many Republicans contend that this action sets a dangerous precedent by essentially paying ransom to Iran, potentially encouraging future detentions for concessions. They also raise concerns that the unfrozen funds could indirectly support Iran's regime and anti-American activities. Clearly, many of these right-wingers oppose the deal primarily because it was brokered by President Biden. While the pros and cons of the deal are debatable, it underscores the contrast between Biden's focus on governance while conservatives continue to focus on nonsense.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders bravely bans (imaginary) vaccine mandates
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has stirred controversy by banning COVID-19 vaccine mandates for state employees, a move celebrated by her supporters as courageous. However, her decision appears totally unnecessary as there were no existing vaccine mandates for public employees in the state. This is yet another example of Republicans decrying government overreach while engaging in what they label as virtue signaling. The debate over vaccine mandates has long passed and the focus on it now hinders progress on crucial issues such as healthcare, education, climate change, and social justice. Moreover, critics warn that this divisive stance may have severe consequences, with vaccine skepticism running amok in this country. Areas with lower vaccine acceptance in Trump-supporting counties have witnessed higher COVID-19 death rates, further deepening political divisions in the United States and impeding efforts to mitigate the spread and severity of the virus.

If you were God, anything you do is right. Who dares to object? This is why Trump claims he is God. Because, unlike God, he has no clue how anything is done. Except lying.
Interviewers of Trump should give clear warnings before and after the interview that the person they are interviewing has a history of telling massive lies.
