I'm TERRIFIED: Is the left about to ABANDON politics?
In this polarized country, I think you will find that the people who purged probably voted for Trump or Stein. They were curious about the message. But after watching Pete B. on Jubilee try to win over Gen Z and failing, I am pretty sure Gen Z are the ones "disengaging" with leftist rhetoric. They haven't learned the dangers of the Trump presidency yet and will probably live to regret their vote for him or Jill. Fact is, those of us who read that paragraph aren't the ones who need to hear it. You need to understand that young people today have no clue what's coming.
Thanks for giving those of us who studied the past or even lived through it, reason to hope. I almost, almost feel badly for the people who voted him in because they are going to have a really rough ride for the next (hopefully only) 4 years. Too bad the rest of us are going on it with them.
I'm really tired of the micro-aggression against VP Harris. You all call trump et al by they're last names and constantly DISRESPECT the VP using her first name, rather than title and last name. This same thing happens in the military and other circles. CONSTANT disrespect of females. FIX IT.

Most people who voted for Trump have no idea what they have signed their country up for and I don't think Trump really grasps it either. Trump may have run to win the presidency but it will be surprising if he serves more than a few weeks as president, if he even makes it to the Inauguration, before he is removed. This was always an election for Vance to be President and front man for the Heritage Foundation. I doubt if he and the Heritage Foundation will have anyone in their cabinet who aren't true believers in their Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise aka Project 2025. It will be interesting to see how badly fractured the concept of states being united under a federal structure becomes.
The election results are interesting. There is a bespoke quality to them. Perfectly tailored to ensure the perfect mandate from the electorate. The Russians, Iranians, Chinese and a range of other bad actors are very sophisticated now in cyber warfare. Trump also has the track record of accusing his opponents of doing what he himself is doing. But this is just an idle observation and maybe a reluctance to accept how stupid the American electorate is. I use the term stupid as described by Dietrich Bonhoeffer in his brief essay On Stupidity. "Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice."

My daughter is seriously thinking of leaving Texas and moving to a blue state. It's painfull because she is my only daughter and would not be able to be near her.
