Trump Riots Hit Brazil, Insurrectionists Demand Bolsonaro's Return
On Sunday, Jair Bolsonaro supporters in Brazil stormed Congress, the Supreme Court, and the presidential palace, demanding the return of their candidate. The insurrection was eerily similar to what happened on January 6th, 2021 in the United States. Some of the supporters of Bolsonaro, who lost the election to leftist rival President Lula da Silva, called for a military intervention to either restore Bolsonaro to power or oust Lula from the presidency. It took hours for control of the buildings in Brasilia's Power Square to be reestablished, with hundreds of participants arrested. President Lula accused Bolsonaro of encouraging the uprising and signed a decree for the federal government to take control of security in the federal district. Bolsonaro, meanwhile, was in Flordia during the protests. The events in Brazil are arguably a result of the lack of consequences faced by Trump and his supporters following the 2020 election in the United States.
Bolsonaro Hanging Out in Florida During Insurrection
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been residing in Florida after losing the presidential election in October and the subsequent inauguration of President Lula da Silva on January 1st. On Sunday, his supporters stormed Brazil's Congress and presidential offices, protesting what they falsely claimed was a stolen election. Bolsonaro, who has long questioned the reliability of Brazil's election systems without evidence, called on his supporters to avoid violence and suggested they move on. He later criticized the protests, saying on Twitter that peaceful demonstrations are part of democracy, but the destruction and invasion of public buildings were not. It is unclear how long Bolsonaro plans to stay in Florida, and there is speculation about whether he could face criminal charges in Brazil over the attack that took place.

Trump TURNS on His Own Supporters in Abortion Post
Donald Trump is now blaming the Republican Party's disappointing midterm performance on the issue of abortion, rather than focusing on the failure of the candidates he endorsed. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote in part, “It wasn’t my fault that the Republicans didn’t live up to expectations in the MidTerms. I was 233-20! It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters.” Trump went on to criticize Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's use of campaign funds. Of course, Trump’s endorsement record is a phony one, since he could bolster it as much as he wanted by giving the nod to incumbents and candidates in safe, heavily conservative districts. Some Republicans are upset with Trump for blaming the defeats on abortion when they view the overturning of Roe vs. Wade as a major victory for them. Also, Trump is actually the one to blame for abortion being front in center in the midterms, as his three Supreme Court picks gave conservatives the numbers necessary to overturn the decades-long precedent on the issue.

WOW: Ginni Thomas Is Q-Anon Level Out of Her Mind
Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has reportedly claimed that she regrets sending text messages about the 2020 election to former Trump Chief of Staf Mark Meadows. The texts contained baseless conspiracy theories and urged Meadows to ensure that Trump did not concede to President-elect Joe Biden. She wrote, “Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators . . . are being arrested & detained for ballot fraud right now & over coming days, & will be living in barges off GITMO to face military tribunals for sedition.” Thomas told the January 6th committee that she regretted the fact that the messages became public and apologized if anyone was offended by them. However, she did not specifically apologize for the content of the messages. While Supreme Court justices are supposed to be apolitical, it’s hard to imagine that Clarence Thomas is not influenced by his wife’s deranged viewpoints like this one.
