I think it is theatre. According to Lev Parnas (who knows Trump and his “inner circle” well) and his sources, what Trump and Putin have done is “swap” Venezuela/North and South America for Ukraine/Central, Eastern and Baltic Europe. Will they do the 'standard' practice of taking a single case, one 'bad deed' with rock solid evidence of guilt and prosecute it? Or will the finally recognize they need to break through the wall of lies, the barrier of excuses, they need to reach the people who VOTE in order to persuade these politicians how to vote? Trump has flooded the zone with all his crimes and abuses and dementia and too dang many constitutional violations. So bring them all. Charge them all. A Senate trial is not a courtroom, it is a political event. It is a show for the public and if you put them to sleep with the minutia of the law, it gives Republicans permission to ignore all those arguments. Instead, show graphics, roll the video time and again. Show how time after time Trump broke the law, and then time after time broke another law, and repeat, repeat... BURY him and any who try to defend him with ALL of his s***. Do not bother with proving anything beyond a shadow of a doubt. Instead show the clear evidence that is open and obvious. Such crimes as his selling of pardons.. properly presented it becomes obvious to everyone. Then hit him with another and another. never spending more than five minutes, if that long, on each individual crime. Spend no more than ten minutes explaining (with pictures or video) the consequences of breaking a given law on our government and the people. Do not let it get bogged down in details. Lawyers should not organize it all, though they can help, but most important is the show, the theater of it, to persuade the voters.
