''....these Traitors starting with the corrupt scotus6 injustices like Our Constitution directs!''

Are you saying there is provision for citizens to initiate remedies against the traitorous SC bastids? within your constitution?

I hope so but didn't know that..

How does that work?

Martin Judd's avatar

Tks. Yes I knew ref the Independence doc and see what you are saying. But seems to me that none of that helps if your politics is set up in such a way that an opposition party (the opposition party) can override a vote which would save your country. I'm from a parliamentary democracy hence using that 'opposition' term. But yours is probably even more so as you only have two main parties. We have 4-5 and it is a shambles.

I don't know how you can fix what you have. I think here that we can fix by changing one aspect of our proportional vote share system but even so that will cause a riot.

I think it all comes down to decency of people and right now your GOP are highly indecent and have no scruples. All they want is money and power...

The Declaration of Independence is the first document of our republic. It states that all men are equal and have certain unalienable rights -- life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It further states that "if any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it."

The Constitution was constructed with three equal and independent branches that are supposed to counterweight each other. Article I establishes Congress' right to impeach and remove an elected official and Article II provides more clarification of the reasons for impeachment.

Further, the 25th Amendment provides more guidelines for presidential succession in case of the incapacity of the sitting president. This was ratified following the assassination of JFK.

Would it be helpful to anyone out there wondering about all these things...if someone posted a defined list of requirements needing to be fulfilled in order to initiate such a move...ie removing a bad leader and initiating a new election (and all done quickly)

...And minus all the usual roadblocks, So like calling for a new election within say two months and pulling out all the stops to make that happen?.

This is what happens in most countries...and we never stick to the defined template if that cannot work out timewise.

We can get back in phase eventually but when needs must...we 'must' change governments...

Your system is entirely inflexible and it cannot work...

Martin Judd's avatar

This seems to be the key to it all. "if any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it."

But even so it gives absolutely no guide as to what steps people can take to rectify. Is like the founders thought such changes could happen on auto. Nothing in your country happens on auto does it?...Other than 'spin from politicians...

Pamela Horter-Moore's avatar

Previous to that phrase, the Founders acknowledge that people are loathe to change the government to which they have become accustomed.

But, no, the Founders didn't tell us how to to that. No more than the Founders tried to address every conceivable thing that could go wrong when they drew up the Constitution. They never considered themselves gurus, but assumed and hoped that their descendents would have the brains and acumen to keep what they had started.

Here is the truth from a 96 year-old woman who has spent her career working with disturbed children and youth:

What I’m about to say is not to excuse his behavior but to explain it.

He believes every word he says as does every two year-old. A two year-old may be holding a cookie in his hand that he has just taken from the cookie box and he will say I DON’T HAVE ANY COOKIE. I DIDN’T TAKE ANY COOKIE. HE BELIEVES IT. A two year old HAS NO CONSCIENCE, AND UNLESS THERE IS LOVE ACCOMPANYING CONTROL, YOU NEVER WILL HAVE A CONSCIENCE. That is Trump.

The hangers on are making a fortune from this baby boy when we choose to believe. As he fights for his power, the lies will get bigger and more frequent, and he will continue to believe every word he says.

Re Mark Kelly running for president: "dynamic speaking" can be learned, if one is interested in learning it. Kelly may not be: he may feel it would be a sort of phony presentation. But considering that military leaders such as Dwight D Eisenhower, Theodore Roosevelt, and even George Washington became effective presidential leaders are examples that military leadership can translate into effective political / governmental leadership.

I'd have voted for Colin Powell had he run - ethical, moral, intelligent, he could have been an excellent leader, regardless of political party. If Barak Obama had not been the Democratic candidate and if Sarah Palin (oh, please!) had not been John McCain's running mate, I would have definitely leaned Republican to vote for McCain. Moreover, John Kennedy served in the military though he was not "career" Navy. George H W Bush had served in the military, though again, not career. Mark Kelly was in the Navy and in the space program, and retired with the rank of Captain. Why wouldn't he be not only qualified, but a viable candidate for President?

Mostly, there is no ONE candidate to look at. The questions become, if Mark Kelly runs for president, who would be his running mate? Who could run for president who can balance the ticket with Kelly as their running mate? "Should Mark Kelly run for president" is not a simple question.

So if the military is being politically decapitated and the remaining competent ones are leaving by choice, what is the regime demanding $1.5T from the Congress for?
