Clinically insane Trump campaign ad invokes conspiracy, attacks trans woman
The 2024 election season is off to a fiery start, with attack ads being unleashed by candidates and political action committees. The latest ad from former President Donald Trump is no exception, filled with conspiracy theories and baseless attacks on the transgender community. Trump's ad paints a grim picture of America under siege from enemies and tyrants, with millions of lives lost. It also slams the World Economic Forum and perpetuates the conspiracy theory that global elites are out to harm the US. The ad even accuses transgender individuals of brainwashing children, while also claiming that the economy is in shambles. Despite the ad's barrage of lies and propaganda, it offers zero concrete policy proposals. This is becoming a common tactic among Republicans who would rather stoke fear and division by focusing on cultural issues rather than offering real solutions. It's time to call out these cynical tactics for what they are and demand that politicians offer tangible policy ideas instead of resorting to fear-mongering.
Tucker Carlson ends silence on firing, dresses like he has a job
Tucker Carlson made his first public statement since being ousted from Fox News, and it was a mix of sanctimony and self-promotion. Clad in a suit and tie, Carlson claimed that most people are good and care about the truth, while simultaneously bashing the stupidity and irrelevance of televised debates. He even went so far as to accuse political parties and their donors of conspiring to suppress important topics like war, civil liberties, and demographic change from public discourse. This is a rich claim coming from Carlson, who was complicit in perpetuating the very same superficiality and sensationalism that he now condemns. Despite his claims to the contrary, Carlson's message was not one of contrition but of opportunism. He ended his statement with the ominous promise of "there is hope" and "see you soon," indicating that he's already scheming his return to the airwaves. Carlson's brand of cynical, divisive rhetoric has no place in responsible journalism, and it's up to viewers to demand better from their news sources.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump suddenly SCARED to debate, FLIPS OUT
Former President Donald Trump posted an angry message on Truth Social, expressing his frustration over the Republican National Committee's decision to hold primary debates without his approval. The RNC has announced that Fox News will host the first Republican presidential primary debate in August in Milwaukee, and candidates will be asked to sign a loyalty pledge to support the eventual nominee. Trump, the current front-runner, has refused to say whether he would support a nominee other than himself. He posted to Truth Social, “I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval, or the approval of the Trump Campaign, before announcing them.” Trump's reluctance to participate in the debates may be due to the risk of embarrassing himself and hurting his chances, as well as the potential threat from other opponents like Ron DeSantis.
From yesterday’s show:
LOL: Chris Christie thinks he could beat Trump
Former New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie has reportedly stated that he could beat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 Republican primary. However, this claim is unlikely to come to fruition, as Christie is not polling above 3% in any surveys of the prospective 2024 field, and finished in sixth place the last time he went up against Trump. Christie's campaign seems to be a dead-on-arrival, and he appears to be trying to answer the question himself of how he could become the nominee. Although Christie would be a lesser evil than Trump, there is no reason to believe that the Republican Party or any significant fraction of it is interested in him. Christie’s best hope would be that Trump is too embroiled in legal battles to successfully campaign and that he’s able to best Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and the other candidates to get the nomination.
