Trump's Brain Breaks, Talks Chinese Restaurant at Sick Rally
Donald Trump held a rally in Nevada on Saturday and his brain appeared to malfunction while trying to defend himself from allegations that he mishandled classified documents. He said, “George H.W. Bush took millions of documents to a former bowling alley and a former Chinese restaurant where they combined them so they’re in a bowling alley slash Chinese restaurant.” The truth of the story is that the National Archives rented space near where the future George H.W. Bush library was going to be built to temporarily store documents and the warehouse was formerly used for other purposes. But Trump wants to make it sound like the building at the time the documents were brought there was a functioning bowling alley or Chinese restaurant to imply they were being improperly stored and unattended to. This story has no connection at all to what Donald Trump is accused of and reeks of desperation.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Goes Full "Replacement Theory"
Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke at one of the Trump rallies over the weekend and promoted the “white replacement theory” without even trying to hide it with coded language. Greene said, “Joe Biden’s five million illegal aliens are on the verge of replacing you, replacing your jobs, and replacing your kids in school, and coming from all over the world, they’re also replacing your culture. And that’s not great for America.” For a long time, right-wingers have had to try to make this point without being so overt about it as to seem obviously racist. With people like Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, and Marjorie Taylor Greene at the forefront of the Republican Party now, no longer is there a need for the racist talking points to be dog-whistled, as so many in the country have just accepted now that that’s just the way they speak.
From over the weekend:
Right-Wingers FURIOUS About Candy...AGAIN
Right-wingers are back to being furious about candy not being sexy enough. Tucker Carlson was the first to broach this subject when he complained earlier this year that the green M&M character no longer wore “sexy boots” and traded them in for “sensible sneakers.” And the brown M&M went from wearing stilettos to lower block heels which were “also less sexy.” Now OAN is joining Tucker in the crusade against the changes being made to M&Ms. The host commented on how there was a new character being added who’s purple and is intended to promote “inclusivity and acceptance.” The OAN host whispered to the camera about the big reveal, “maybe it’s transgender.” These right-wing hosts must be incredibly privileged if they think the really urgent issues facing the country have to do with the identity and sex appeal of candy characters.
From over the weekend:
Bill O'Reilly's Shocking Advice to Herschel Walker
Bill O’Reilly actually offered up some good advice to beleaguered Republican Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker. Walker is facing an allegation that he paid for a woman he dated to get two abortions back in 2009, despite claiming now that he is vehemently opposed to the procedure and says it should be illegal without exception. O’Reilly said on his program, “here's what you got to do, Herschel. And I'm just talking to you like a human being. This is a serious accusation. If you did it, you got to say you did it. I don't know how you do that, but you can't lie about it. If you did not do it, then you've got to go after The Daily Beast. You got to have your attorneys sue them and if there is a person alleging that she had an abortion, you got to see that person.” Bill’s instinct here is actually correct which is that Herschel either needs to own up to his mistake or sue for defamation depending on whether the allegation is actually true. Of course, Walker isn’t doing either one of these things and is hoping the problem will just go away on its own before Election Day.
