Texas companies say Republicans are RUINING their businesses
Texas companies, including major players like Bumble and Match, have formed a coalition criticizing Republican-led abortion bans, asserting that these policies are detrimental to their businesses. Represented by a legal filing from the law firm Reed Smith and supported by 40 companies, they argue that the ambiguity surrounding abortion laws in Texas is hindering recruitment efforts and making the state less attractive to potential employees and investors, affecting industries ranging from technology to hospitality. This critique extends beyond abortion policies, encompassing issues such as tariffs, immigration restrictions, environmental deregulation, and the lack of meaningful healthcare reform, challenging the traditional perception that Republicans are inherently pro-business. The coalition's stance underscores a shift in the narrative, highlighting the nuanced impact of Republican policies on businesses, questioning the conventional notion of their pro-business stance, and emphasizing the need for a comprehensive evaluation of their policies and their true implications for various sectors.
Trump PANICKING to block this ONE witness from defamation case
In the ongoing defamation case brought by E. Jean Carroll against Donald Trump, the former president is reportedly panicking to block the testimony of Ashlee Humphreys, an expert witness who assessed the damages in Rudy Giuliani's recent trial. Giuliani faced a devastating $148 million verdict for his actions. Humphreys, scheduled to testify in Trump's defamation trial next month, is perceived by Trump's legal team as a threat due to her ability to estimate the reputational repair costs associated with Trump's defamatory statements against Carroll. Trump's defense argues for excluding Humphreys, claiming her damage estimations are inflated and unreliable. Ironically, this mirrors the accusations Trump faces in his civil fraud trial regarding inflated real estate values. The outcome of Humphreys' testimony could significantly impact the amount Trump may be ordered to pay.
From yesterday’s show:
Vivek Ramaswamy will WITHDRAW from CO ballot over banning Trump
Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has announced his intention to withdraw from the ballot in Colorado unless Donald Trump is allowed to participate. Ramaswamy accused Colorado Republicans of an unconstitutional maneuver to exclude Trump, citing a misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment. He contended that this move undermines the fundamental principle of people choosing their leaders, not an unelected elite. Ramaswamy's threat, although creating a stir in the political sphere, is clearly an attempt to make in-roads with Trump supporters and set himself up for his future endeavors. Vivek challenged fellow candidates Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to join him in protest, warning that failure to do so would make them complicit in an unconstitutional attack on the democratic process. Despite the fervor generated by Ramaswamy's statement, its impact remains uncertain, and attention will continue as the situation unfolds, potentially reaching the Supreme Court before the state's January 4th deadline.
From yesterday’s show:
Ted Cruz gives bizarre sex advice in cult speech gone wrong
During Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona, Ted Cruz delivered a wacky speech that showcased how awkward and unlikable he is. The speech featured dramatic entrances with smoke, pyrotechnics, and lights, resembling a rock concert. In the speech, Cruz made explicit comments about sexual skills, suggesting that liberal women are unhappy due to the purported shortcomings of liberal men. Additionally, Cruz made politically charged statements, including accusing Joe Biden of inappropriate behavior and joking about pronouns, stating once again, "My pronouns are kiss my ass." Cruz’s speech was a mix of a bad political address and a worse stand-up routine. Despite the controversial nature of the speech, many in the audience appeared to enjoy it, seemingly setting up Cruz for another presidential run at some point in the future.
