Trump MISSING, Melania MISSING, Biden has 18 public events
The recent media coverage of the presidential campaign reveals a significant disparity in scrutiny between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. While Biden has made 18 public appearances since the last debate, the media remains fixated on his age and fitness, often overlooking Trump's lack of visibility and cognitive concerns. Despite signs of age-related decline, Biden maintains a rigorous schedule, engaging in high-level diplomacy and domestic policy. In contrast, Trump has held minimal public events, primarily orchestrated rallies, yet faces little media scrutiny. Additionally, the absence of coverage on Melania Trump's prolonged disappearance contrasts sharply with the intense scrutiny of other presidential spouses. This skewed coverage prioritizes sensationalism over informing the public about the election's true stakes, and the media should hold all political figures to the same standards.
UH-OH: Trump lead over Biden up by 120% since debate
Following the presidential debate on June 27th, Donald Trump's polling lead over Joe Biden increased from 1.5 to 3.3 percentage points, representing a 120% rise. This statistic can be interpreted in multiple ways: as a significant gain for Trump or as an indication of Biden's resilience, given that he's still within the margin of error for many polls despite a poor debate performance. The FiveThirtyEight forecast adjusted slightly from an even 50-50 chance to 51-49 in favor of Trump. These numbers have led to conflicting narratives—some argue that Trump's lead signifies Biden's downfall, while others see the small shift as evidence of Trump's weaknesses. Ultimately, the situation remains complex and uncertain, with a definitive analysis likely only possible after the November election.
From over the long weekend:
Biden owns up to disastrous debate performance at wild rally
After his disappointing debate performance, President Biden addressed supporters at a rally in North Carolina, candidly acknowledging his shortcomings and emphasizing his resilience and honesty. He admitted that he isn't as sharp as he used to be but stressed his ability to tell the truth and get things done. This honest and self-aware approach resonated with the crowd, who remained enthusiastic about his candidacy. The rally, held at 1:30 p.m., was notably better than his debate showing, aligning with reports that Biden functions best between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Despite the debate performance, Biden's record reflects truthfulness and competence, in contrast to Trump's frequent dishonesty. The economic metrics under Biden's administration are favorable, and preventing Trump from winning the presidency and implementing Project 2025 remains a priority.
From over the long weekend:
Steve Bannon is now in prison
Steve Bannon, former Trump and Breitbart propagandist, has begun serving his prison sentence following his contempt of Congress conviction. Despite appeals, a judge ruled that Bannon must report to Danbury Prison, where he will serve four months. Before surrendering, Bannon hosted his show, identifying himself as Federal Prisoner 05635509. Bannon predicted a harsher fate for Trump, who faces sentencing in September. Steve then held an event where he appeared disoriented by the protests, and a priest blessed both him and Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was in attendance. Greene's attempt to speak against Nancy Pelosi was drowned out by chants and cowbells. Bannon's imprisonment underscores a commitment to law and order, contrasting with the right's selective application of these principles. Following his sentence, Bannon is expected to return to his propagandist activities, while the upcoming Trump sentencing on 34 felony counts awaits.
