Biden Calls Fox Reporter "Stupid Son of a B!tc&"
In a candid moment, Joe Biden called Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a bitch.” Doocy has a long history of asking adversarial and often nonsensical questions to Biden and Press Secretary Jen Psaki. At an event yesterday, Doocy yelled out a question to Biden asking if it was a “political liability” to have high inflation. Biden responded sarcastically with “it’s a great asset, more inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch.” Biden was out of line here, this is not how presidents should speak to members of the press. Recognizing this, Biden issued an apology to Peter Doocy. But the very same people who were silent or even cheered on Donald Trump’s insults and bad temperament towards the press are now criticizing Biden for a double standard. The key difference, of course, is that Biden apologized for his statement and recognized he shouldn’t have said it. Trump, on the other hand, never apologized for anything and never showed any self-reflection. Biden was wrong to say this, which he now recognizes, and hopefully it doesn’t happen again.
UH-OH: Criminal Grand Jury Approved for Trump Election Interference
A grand jury in Georgia has been approved to investigate Donald Trump’s election interference in the state. After losing the race there to Joe Biden, Trump badgered Governor Brian Kemp, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, and other election officials to change the outcome in his favor. Famously, Trump was recorded on a phone call saying, "I just want to find 11,780 votes." The former president may have broken the law with this comment and others like it. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis requested to seat the grand jury on May 2nd. The decision whether to press charges is expected to come in the first half of 2022. For all the claims of election fraud that Trump has made ever since the 2020 election, he could be the one facing penalties for tampering with the voting process. In addition to this investigation, Trump is also facing a civil suit out of New York having to do with possible financial infractions. The problems continue to pile up for the ex-POTUS and they are certainly well deserved.
From yesterday’s show:
Republican COLLAPSES When Asked for 3 Policy Ideas
For the last several years, Republicans have taken the route of focusing on culture war issues instead of substantive policy. This strategy has accelerated in the Trump and post-Trump era. As President Biden pointed out at his recent press conference, “think about this, what are Republicans for? What are they for? Name me one thing they’re for?” Case in point, Republican Senator Joni Ernst went on Jake Tapper’s CNN show last week, but was unable to come up with an adequate response to a question about what the GOP supports. Ernst said, “well I think that Republicans stand for a strong, free, and prosperous nation.” She went on to say conservatives would tackle inflation if they took power, but failed to say how. Ernst wrapped up her answer by talking about the need to do deal with “foreign relations with our allies” but failed to mention specific countries and how she would do that. They have no new policy ideas, but sadly people will vote for them anyways, and this zero policy strategy may even win them back power in 2022 and 2024.
From yesterday’s show:
NEW: Rudy Giuliani Ran Fake Elector Scam in 7 States
We are learning more and more about a coordinated plan by Rudy Giuliani to send fraudulent electors in multiple states to Washington DC to try and steal the election from Joe Biden. The fake elector plot affected seven states that Trump lost: Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nevada and New Mexico. According to sources given to CNN, there were calls between Trump campaign officials and Republican state officials. The two parties worked together to rent out meeting rooms in state houses for the electors to meet. If these fake electors succeeded in casting ballots for Trump which were then sent to Congress to be counted by Mike Pence, there could have been a constitutional crisis even worse than what we witnessed last year. All of this is being investigated by the January 6th committee, and the revelations could ultimately get Giuliani and his allies in criminal trouble.
