Jimmy Kimmel returned to ABC last night, prompting a furious response from Donald Trump, who threatened to sue the network over the show’s reinstatement. In a Truth Social post, Trump criticized Kimmel’s ratings, accused him of spreading “positive Democrat” messaging, and suggested the White House had been involved in the show’s prior cancellation.
During his return monologue, Kimmel emphasized that the core issue is defending free speech. He stressed that no one, not even the President, should be able to intimidate comedians, journalists, or media outlets. Kimmel criticized threats from government officials, including FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, as violations of the First Amendment.
On Stephen Colbert’s show, California Governor Gavin Newsom warned of a “Code Red” moment and questioned whether future elections would reflect the public’s will. By critiquing Democratic communication weaknesses, he positions himself as a leader willing to fight on key issue.
Donald Trump’s United Nations address was chaotic and disconnected. The speech included rambling statements, bizarre word choices, and repeated references to his poll numbers rather than global issues. World leaders laughed at multiple points, highlighting the gap between Trump’s self-perception and the reception of his message.
Trump’s first post-UN message on Truth Social about the Ukraine-Russia war was rambling and nearly impossible to decipher. He praised Ukraine’s ability to reclaim all lost territory while offering vague well-wishes to both sides and making contradictory statements about NATO.
Following the speech, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that anyone who “intentionally stopped” Trump’s escalator or sabotaged his teleprompter should be fired. UN officials clarified that a staffer from Trump’s own party accidentally triggered the escalator, and the teleprompter was operated by Trump’s team. Despite this, Leavitt defended her claims on Fox News, reinforcing the administration’s tendency to frame minor mishaps as deliberate attacks.
Finally, Colin Allred, Texas Democratic Senate candidate, joins us to discuss his 2026 campaign. He outlines plans to address affordability, protect and expand Social Security by raising the contribution cap for the ultra-wealthy, and fight gerrymandering.
On today’s bonus show:
A shooting at a Dallas ICE facility left two dead, including the shooter, who reportedly had anti-ICE motives, though no ICE officers were harmed. Ryan Routh is found guilty of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump at his golf club last year. And a California lawyer was fined $10,000 for filing a court appeal with fabricated citations generated by ChatGPT.

Why is this person not being impeached? It is dangerously close to total insanity.
