Tyler Robinson, 22, from Utah, has been taken into custody in connection with Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Authorities say he was identified and turned in by his father. Inscriptions on bullet casings read phrases like “if you read this, you’re gay,” “hey, fascist! catch!” and references to anti-fascist slogans and anime. Investigators recovered a Mauser 9830 rifle at the scene. Motives remain unclear, though some signs suggest anti-fascist sentiment.
Kirk’s murder highlights a broader culture of political violence in the U.S., which has been normalized and sometimes celebrated by figures like Donald Trump and MAGA agitators. While the act is abhorrent, it reflects an environment where incendiary rhetoric and dehumanization make violence seem possible.
Meanwhile, Trump remains highly susceptible to manipulation by authoritarian leaders like Vladimir Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Kim Jong-un, whose praise and attention play directly into his ego. This vulnerability affects U.S. policy on issues from NATO to Ukraine. Many Republicans, however, downplay or ignore these risks, acting as if Trump fully understands the manipulation.
The economy shows signs of stagnation. Nearly a million jobs were revised away by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and manufacturing lost 78,000 jobs. Trump’s tariffs, immigration policies, and economic instability worsen the trend, discouraging hiring and investment. Nonpartisan analysis finds 99% of Americans will see net income losses under his economic policies, while the top 1% benefit, creating a major upward wealth transfer.
Support for capitalism is at a historic low, mainly among Democrats and independents, while socialism remains flat. Americans distinguish between small businesses, which they support, and large corporations, which they increasingly distrust.
On today’s bonus show:
Trump is approving federal disaster aid mainly for red states that backed him in 2024, openly tying relief money to political loyalty while leaving blue states behind. And Senate Republicans block a Democratic effort to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.

I read a credible analysis of the butler shooting and the upshot (no pun) was that it can be argued that it was a setup to improve poll numbers. Incredible to imagine. I am trying to recall the exact source- Atlantic? What an immense tangle
David I appreciate you so much. Of the many voices who speak to us in place of the failed mainstream media, yours is the most objective. You deliver facts even when they are uncomfortable to hear which is what we all need. Also you do not seek to grab our attention with headliners: "This will end Trump!" and all that sort of thing. Despite the messages of hate I know you receive, you do not stray from your course. I think you are very brave. I thank you so much and wish you the best. Please keep yourself safe.
