I’ve served this country in uniform—as a Military Police K-9 Officer and certified Combat Medic in a combat zone. I’ve seen what most people only hear about in sound bites or catch in headlines. I’ve responded to the aftermath of IED blasts. I’ve stood guard while handmade Molotov cocktails flew at our position. I’ve treated wounded soldiers under pressure and watched teammates carry emotional burdens home that no one was ready for.
So when I hear calls for U.S. military involvement in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, I don’t just hear rhetoric—I hear the same justifications that sent too many of us into war zones without a clear mission or endgame.
Let’s be honest: the push for intervention feels familiar. And not in a good way.
Right now, there are voices in Washington—including former President Donald Trump and his MAGA allies—calling for swift and unquestioned military action. No debate. No congressional authorization. Just action. But that’s not leadership—it’s recklessness. It’s another case of politicians willing to send troops into harm’s way without thinking through the cost.
We’ve done this before. Iraq. Afghanistan. We were promised quick outcomes and justified missions. What we got were years of blood, trauma, broken families, and instability that’s still echoing across the globe.
We can’t afford to do this again.
Getting involved in a war between Israel and Iran won’t serve U.S. national security. It’ll inflame anti-American sentiment, pull our servicemembers into yet another endless deployment cycle, and derail critical issues we should be focused on right here at home—from veterans’ care and national infrastructure to climate response and economic security.
This is a time for restraint, for diplomacy, and for a return to the constitutional balance of power. That means Congress needs to do its job.
Thankfully, some are stepping up. Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna have introduced a bipartisan War Powers Resolution that would force the president to seek congressional approval before taking military action against Iran. In the Senate, Tim Kaine, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Chris Van Hollen are pushing similar bills to block unauthorized offensive strikes.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about responsibility. It’s about making sure our government can’t launch another war without oversight. And it’s about protecting the lives of the men and women who will be the first to bleed if we get this wrong.
I’ve been close enough to know: we don’t need another war.
And if our leaders won’t say it, I will.

You are certainly the right person and it is you who should be giving president cockroach advice about taking the US into another endless war. I respect and admire you for having the courage and the strength of your convictions as well as your unimaginable experience. Thank you for your service. We need more people like yourself who were at the coalface of the war to speak out as you have done. If people hear your experience enough times they will finally understand why the US has no business to involve itself into a war between Iran/Israel. Any Republican who has any moral fibre should break away from their party and vote with the Dems. Republicans are very weak people and they are cowards. Their children would be ashamed of their parents if they knew that their parents are too frightened of the big fat bully to vote what they believe in their hearts is right. They are voting with their egos, but the cockroach is never going to do anything to help them if he succeeds in making America a state of russia. Putin will also trash trump as soon as he gets America under his control. The cockroach is frightened of Putin because he knows all of the cockroach's dirty secrets.
He doesn’t care if he @ has the power” he does whatever he likes and what benefits him and his agenda. As long as Congress doesn’t step on him he’ll just keep rolling. And what’s the rhetoric about impeachment? Twice done and what did it accomplish? He needs to feel the pain of breaking our laws and tearing up the constitution
Trump's legs are severly swollen as well--especially the right. You can see it in the size of his knee. He's not a well man, and he's not in charge of anything anymore imo. Not sure who's running the show, feeding him lines, and writing his daily posts, but imo it's not him. I'm simply comparing his current musings to those of 10 years ago where slipups and typos were common. Just listen to him speak--it's infantile ffs. Covfefe
Trump’s attacks on Iran’s three nuclear enrichment facilities will now enable Trump to declare Martial law in the US and finalize his fascist takeover. We can now expect that Trump will stage a cateclysmic attack on U.S. soil, claim it is Iranian retrobution for his nuclear hits, and use this excuse for enacting Martial law..
Martial law is Trump’s most clear path to a fascist takeover since it will enable Trump to keep protesters off the streets, arrest those who oppose him, and cancel elections. Trump’s actions are unpresidented in this country and cannot be completely predicted, but every indication is that he is heading for complete fascist control, and his only clear path to accomplishing that is to follow the use of Martial law which was the method Hitler used to takeover Germany (See Shea’s substack post of June 25, 2025, “Trump Alert: The Fascist Takeover Plan” for an enumeration of the tactics which Trump is employing so so far.)
Trump continues to attempt to incite public backlash against the brutal and unconstitutional ICE raids in L.A. He has been able to export protests to other blue states and cities, but so far the resistance has generally maintained non violence, and even if it escolates, the response to ICE raids may not be enough to guarantee him a successful enactment of Martial law. He cannot risk a backlash like was seen in South Korea when the public response to the enactment of Martial law was so massive that it resulted in the removal and arrest of the offending president.
Causing violence and meyhem in the streets is the tactic Hitler used to achieve fascist control over Germany. But it took one additional step to solidify Hitler’s victory, and that was the burning of the Reightstag, the German legislative building. Hitler blamed the Left for the arson, convinced the German people that only strong, dictatorial government authority could restore peace, and used that as justification for declaring Martial law, and arresting his enemies. German democracy was all over.
There are indications that Trump could be planning to use the fear of Iranian retaliation on U.S. soil to justify enactment of Martial law. Immediately after the bombings, Fox News (Trump’s media voice) began airing alerts that reported that Iranian sleeper cells in the U.S. could be planning retaliatory attacks, including but not limited to ciber or bombing attacks on electrical infrastructure and assassinations of public officials. Law enforcement has been put on high alert.
In response to any who may think I am catastrophizing over concerns for which we have no evidence, I can only say that I’m getting a little tired of people not recognizing how low a sociopath (malignant narcist) like Trump will go until he has already gone there. I believe we can defeat Trump, but it will require our anticipation of his every move. Hope for the best; plan for the worst.
Defeating Trump will probably require such a massive mobilization of the US population that even Trump will have to recognize the uselessness of standing against it. We must all participate for there to be a solution.
You really need to use a dictionary or turn on spellcheck on your device while you are writing. Using a dictionary is best to use because if you use it enough times with a word, you will eventually learn how to spell that word without help. If you use spellcheck you will never learn how to spell a word. There were so many misspelt words (especially the big ones that you do not usually use) that they distracted me from what you were trying to say. If you know that you are an extremely poor speller and you refuse to use a dictionary or spellcheck it is laziness and an insult to the people you want to read what you are writing.

Take away his Executive Privilege and then impeach him and his administrative appointees.
