Bill O'Reilly Loses His Mind Over "Minorities" After Shooting
Bill O’Reilly went on a tirade against Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker, alleging that Democrats only care about the identity of shooters when they’re white. This was in response to a press conference the governor gave about the Fourth of July mass shooting in Highland Park. O’Reilly got unhinged saying, “you J.B. are not going to stop loons and you won’t stop crime, drug crime, drug gangs, because they’re minority gangs. That’s why you won’t stop them, you phony. You aid and abet this murder in Chicago every blanking day.” Of course, the issue of gang violence and deliberately shooting one or two people are different issues from mass shootings where the perpetrators fire indiscriminately at crowds. For some reason, the right wing loves to lump these two categories together. Moreover, O’Reilly’s analysis about the governor not caring about crimes when minorities are the attackers doesn’t add up and appears to be rooted in Bill’s deeply held bigoted views.
Trump Desperate to Be on Joe Rogan's Podcast, Rogan Said No
Podcaster Joe Rogan has revealed that Donald Trump is desperate to get on his show and that he’s refused to have the former president on multiple times. Rogan said on a podcast with Lex Fridman, “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way shape or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once. I’ve said no, every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.” This is an interesting revelation given the large contingent of Rogan’s audience that’s right wing, along with how he recently said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would make a good president. There’s also a question about whether Trump would even do well in Rogan’s three-hour open dialogue format. Trump demonstrates an inability to go into depth on any particular issue and instead jumps around from topic to topic meaning there probably wouldn’t be much to be learned from that exchange.

Ban Doors, Rooftops and Ladders to Stop Mass Shootings
Another mass shooting took place over the long weekend, with seven people getting killed at a parade event in Highland Park, Illinois. Republicans are workshopping how to respond to this tragedy, since after the elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas they said that too many doors was the problem. Now because this shooting took place outside, and the perpetrator used a ladder to get onto the rooftop of a business to carry out the attack, perhaps they will move on to ladders as the culprit. Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff’s Department said in a press conference after the shooting, “it looks like access to the roof via a ladder in an alley was unsecure.” Right wingers will likely focus their attention on things like securing all ladders in alleyways, so long as it means they don’t have to come out in support of basic gun safety measures.
From yesterday’s show:
Does Anybody Believe Joe Biden is Running for Re-Election?
At this point, it seems unlikely that Joe Biden will be running for a second term as president. Ever since he launched his 2020 run, there have been questions over whether Biden would seek a second term if he captured the White House for a first term. Biden will be 82 years old on Inauguration Day 2025, and 86 by the time his second term would be over. The position of the White House has long been that the president “intends to” run again, leaving the room to back out of that commitment at any time. Case in point, Kamala Harris had to walk back recent comments she made about their plans for 2024. The vice president said on CNN, “Joe Biden is running for reelection and I will be his ticket mate.” Soon after, her office had to put out a correction saying that Biden “intends to” run. It’s understandable if Biden doesn’t want to run again, but Democrats need to come up with a definitive plan soon if they want to appear competent going into the next election cycle.
