Herschel Walker: This Erection is About the People
Herschel Walker had yet another gaffe on the campaign trail this week, this time using the word “erection” instead of “election.” Walker was on Sean Hannity’s show, flanked by Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham. He said, “this election is more than Herschel Walker. This erection is about the people.” Ted Cruz clearly recognized the word mix-up, glancing his eyes right at Herschel after he said it. While this is by no means an important story, it does provide some levity to a serious race coming up on December 6th. Hopefully, the Georgia electorate will vote resoundingly to give Senator Raphael Warnock a full term and mark the end of Herschel Walker’s political career.
Trump LOSES IT Over His Tax Returns Being Released
Donald Trump is going bonkers because the Supreme Court refused to block his tax returns from going to a House committee. It is believed that once the tax information is in the hands of the House Ways and Means Committee, there’s a real possibility that it will get leaked to the general public. Trump has been desperate to shield his tax returns from becoming public ever since his first run for president, as they would likely show he’s not as rich as he claims to be. The former president complained about the court’s decision on his Truth Social site, writing, “Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do! It is unprecedented to be handing over Tax Returns, & it creates terrible precedent for future Presidents. Has Joe Biden paid taxes on all of the money he made illegally from Hunter & beyond. The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price. They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!” What Trump left out from his analysis was that he appointed three of the nine Supreme Court justices, which goes to show the law was clearly on the side of the House committee.
From yesterday’s show:
Kari Lake Leaves Trump's House, Will Try to Overturn Election
Kari Lake, who lost to Katie Hobbs in the Arizona gubernatorial election, is claiming voter fraud following her visit to Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Lake put out a video to her supporters wherein she said, “this isn’t about Republicans or Democrats. This is about our sacred right to vote.” This is something Trumpian candidates and supporters love to say, but it’s clearly not true since they never try to overturn the elections that result in a Republican defeating a Democrat. Lake went on to complain about how tabulators in Maricopa County briefly didn’t work. She said, “Arizonans who choose to make their voice heard on Election Day should not be disenfranchised or punished for choosing to vote in person.” While we should work to limit Election Day voting issues, Republicans are willingly putting themselves at a disadvantage by telling their supporters not to vote early or by mail. Perhaps if Lake had run a better campaign and toned down the Trump fanaticism, she would have come out ahead.
From yesterday’s show:
Bill Barr: Probably Right to Indict Trump, I Might Still Vote for Him
William Barr, Trump’s final Attorney General, did an interview with PBS’s Margaret Hoover and simultaneously said that Trump probably broke the law and that he would vote for him again in 2024 if it came down to it. Barr started out by saying that “if a former president commits a crime, especially a serious crime, they should be indicted for it.” When it comes to Trump specifically, and the Mar-a-Lago documents scandal, he said, “I personally think that they probably have the basis for legitimately indicting the president.” Then Hoover brought up the possibility of Barr voting for Trump again. She asked, “ideologically progressive versus somebody who orchestrated an attack on the Capitol and betrayed his oath to the Consitution, you still might vote for him?” Barr meekly responded “mmhm” and elaborated “it depends on the circumstances.” This goes to show that even though some of these Republicans recognize Trump as an authoritarian who’s willing to destroy the country for his own benefit, they are still open to voting for him against a Democrat.
