Trump in Love with "Genius" Putin's "Smart" Invasion of Ukraine
Donald Trump is complimenting Vladimir Putin for his invasion of Ukraine. Trump has long been enamored with the Russian president (as well as other dictators), and he’s also using the events of this week to attack his successor, Joe Biden. The ex-POTUS appeared on The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, where he argued that Biden stole the 2020 election and that he’s too incompetent to lead. Then, Trump began praising Vladimir Putin, saying that “this is genius. Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful. So Putin is now saying it’s independent, a large section of Ukraine. I said, ‘how smart is that?’ And he’s going to go in and be a peacekeeper.” In fairness, Trump delivered this statement in a tone that suggested he was being critical of what Putin is doing. But Trump chose to compliment Putin nonetheless by calling him “smart” and a “genius” and deep down it’s because Trump wishes he could have pulled off the same type of authoritarian actions when he was the American president.
Right-Wing Clowns GUSHING Over Putin's Invasion
Right-wing personalities are complimenting Russian President Vladimir Putin for his invasion of Ukraine. One such figure is Candace Owens, who tweeted “I suggest every American who wants to know what’s *actually* going on in Russia and Ukraine, read this transcript of Putin’s address. As I’ve said for month— NATO (under direction from the United States) is violation previous agreements and expanding eastward. WE are at fault.” The Putin address Candace was referencing was an incoherent press conference that failed to offer any legitimate justification for why Russia would have the right to take over part of another country. Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA said that the incursion “feels as if Putin is going into places that want him” and wrote it off as a “family dispute.” These people who believe Mexico has to respect the American border all of a sudden think Russia doesn’t have to respect Ukraine’s. The grifting and inconsistency from these right-wing commentators is obvious and ultimately this is just an opportunity for them to go after the Biden administration and European powers.
From yesterday’s show:
Tucker Sides with Putin Literally As Invasion Starts
Tucker Carlson appears to be siding with Vladimir Putin in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, partially as a way to attack the Biden administration. Earlier this week, Carlson said that “Ukraine is not even a democracy, despite what Joe Biden endlessly claims. Ukraine is a corrupt eastern European autocracy that has spent millions of dollars lobbying politicians in Washington, and by the way, made Joe Biden’s family rich.” The same can be said about Russia, which is by all accounts more corrupt and more autocratic than Ukraine. The Freedom Index gives Russia a freedom score of 20/100, which is far worse than Ukraine’s 60/100. While there is room for improvement when it comes to Ukraine, the country is at least transitioning towards becoming more democratic, whereas Russia is trending in the opposite direction. Tucker’s propaganda is meant to serve as a justification for Putin’s actions, and he doesn’t care how truthful it actually is.
From yesterday’s show:
The Last True Liberal Tulsi Gabbard to Speak at CPAC
Tulsi Gabbard, former Hawaii Congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate, will be speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida this weekend. CPAC is a who’s who of right-wing politicians and media personalities, so on the surface, it doesn’t make sense why a Democrat like Tulsi would be speaking at the event. The event’s promotion of her doesn’t even mention that she served in and remains a member of the Democratic Party. During the 2020 presidential primaries, many who supported Gabbard’s campaign believed her to be even further to the left of candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Over the past couple of years, Tulsi has found a home in the right wing, making frequent appearances on Fox News and joining conservative social media platforms. Now with this CPAC appearance, it appears as though Gabbard’s grift is complete and her purpose now is to placate to a right-wing audience.
