Ukrainian President Zelensky Defiant Speech to EU, Standing Ovation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conducted a livestream speech to the European Union yesterday for which he got a standing ovation. Zelensky has been getting a tremendous amount of admiration from people all over the world for his bravery and defiance in the face of the Russian invasion. Zelensky’s said during his speech (translated into English) “we are fighting just for our land and for our freedom. Despite the fact that all large cities of our country are now blocked, nobody is going to enter and intervene with our freedom and country.” The interpreter was even getting emotional over the speech, sounding like he was tearing up from Zelensky’s words. If Ukraine does end up falling, it won’t be from a lack of passion or resolve from the country or its leadership, but rather from the sheer size of the Russian military which continues to ramp up its advance on Kyiv and the other major cities.
The State of The David Pakman Show
Tonight, President Joe Biden will be delivering his State of the Union address and today, David has given his first ever State of the Show address. Last year, The David Pakman Show saw the addition of 200,000 YouTube subscribers, which is the most ever for a non-election year, as well as a record set for podcast downloads. Our new platforms are growing including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. TDPS town halls also returned in 2021, which are hugely popular with the core audience. The year was not without challenges, including a temporary demonetization ban on Facebook and a bogus strike on TikTok. Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones launched a brutal attack on David’s appearance and even insulted the world-famous Bonus Show. There are some major obstacles the program is up against but we will not give up. There is inspiration to be found in the growth of the audience, the inspiring live calls, and even in the trolls who send countless emails because they know the show is having an effect. All in all, the state of the show is strong and some even say the strongest it’s ever been.
From yesterday’s show:
Sweaty Trump's Delusional Interview Horrifies the World
Donald Trump took questions from right-wing reporters at CPAC in Orlando, Florida over the weekend and the highlight was his reaction to a question he got about Ukraine. With news of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky choosing to stay and fight in Kyiv rather than flee the country, Trump was asked if he would do the same and take up arms in America if the moment called for it. Apparently realizing how absurd it would look if Trump said he would make the same decision Zelensky did, the former American president gave a surprisingly measured response. He said, “you never know about bravery. Some people think they’re brave and they’re not brave and other people don’t think of themselves as very brave and they step up. You never know until you get tested.” It seems clear that if a situation like what’s happening in Ukraine arose in the United States, Trump would be the first to flee the country and even with this answer he seems to recognize that.
From yesterday’s show:
Russian Ruble COLLAPSES, Now Worth Less Than ONE US CENT
The Russian economy is collapsing due to the sanctions imposed on the country following the invasion of Ukraine. The currency of Russia, the Ruble, is now worth less than one American cent, which is approximately a 30% decline over the past couple of weeks. This has led to a run on the banks, with Russian citizens lining up at ATMs over the weekend to pull out their money before the machines ran out of cash. The Russian stock market has also collapsed to the point where trading has been halted for Monday and Tuesday of this week to prevent further losses. Russia has also been largely removed from the SWIFT payment system that enables international transactions. These effects will hit the average Russian civilian much harder than it will the oligarchs and certainly Vladimir Putin. But the hope is that this could create enough pressure on the leadership of the country to end the war in Ukraine and perhaps even lead to the ousting of Putin from office.
