We had at one time lots of laws that kept things fair and reasoned, then courts stuffed with judges Republicans put there, and administrations of Republicans, dismantled those protections and Democrats thought they were playing to the 'moderates' by not opposing Republicans as Republicans incrementally cheated their way to maximize their power.
It is time and past time for Democrats to learn how to wield all the power they have (which right now is low, but will grow) so that when they do get it, they go big and bold and get stuff done.
