He must be stopped,now.

Hound's avatar

Don’t even bother saying that because it sounds so desperate. The only way this stuff is gonna stop is when the corporate filthy rich, morally depraved MAGATS no longer exist on the face of the Earth.

The American government is corrupt. The American government and the deep state are right out in the open. They are the billionaires and the corporations.

And he has been allowed to get by with anything his entire life so why should now be different?

Hound's avatar

I think the time has come to stop defining the problem. I think the time is come to expect that our corrupt government’s gonna do anything about it.

If you wake up and you see that you’re yard is full of dangerous dogs with rabies are you gonna whine to the neighbors who will tell you to call the animal control officer and when you call the animal control officer he refuses to do his job?

This government is too corrupt to even consider reforming itself. If decent Americans simply bitched about the fact that this country owned slaves nothing would’ve happened to free them.

Wake up lemmings. The American government doesn’t give a shit about you or the rule of law or morality or humanity.

I have been a long time supporter and will continue. I have had this discussion with like minded family and friends. They all have faith in the American system and believe everything will work out after the midterms. I, however, don't believe that things will be so smooth. They have ignored all of our laws all along, why would they change now? I believe we're in for the long haul, and at my age of 78, I question whether I will live long enough to see the return to our Democracy.

This MAGA crap has been going on for 10+ years. It's sad how long this has preoccupied our time and impacted our ability for self-actualization.

James, you wrote, quote: "They have ignored all of our laws all along, why would they change now? I believe we're in for the long haul, and at my age of 78, I question whether I will live long enough to see the return to our Democracy."

I am 84 and feel exactly as you do. We are no longer concerned for ourselves, but for our children and grandchildren. I attend rallies and protests with my rollator and big American flag attached. I write endlessly on various platforms, such as this one, making my feelings known in plain, often profane(ish) language. I have a long list of insulting names for Hair Drumpf collected during his first term, headlined "Boy-God-Emperor Darth Cheetoh," AKA "Dear Leader," the Mask of the Orange Death. Incompetent, indecisive, intolerant, and ineffective. The trump sandwich: White bread, full of baloney, with Russian dressing and a small pickle.

If there comes a time when I attract the attention of the Trumpstapo, my attitude is, I am 84! Yes, they can hurt me terribly before they kill me, but I have just been diagnosed with amyloid plaques: You know what that means. I figure I can be laissez-faire because I am nearing the end of my natural life.

Thus, what really worries me is what the Trumpstapo might do to my kids and grandkids because Grampa couldn't keep his big partisan mouth shut, but I HAVE to fight back. This entire fascist regime is lawless to the core. They laugh at judges. They laugh at the Constitution. The Comb-over Caligula even laughs and swears obscenities at his pet Supremes when a few of his Black Robed Gang of Six fascists dare to defy Der Drumpfenführer. Again, "They have ignored all of our laws all along, why would they change now?" Welp, they won't, so those able-bodied among us better stay in shape and buckle up; it's gonna be a long ride.

Why would he NOT?!? He always has. And he will now also. He will die with a cloud over his name. But he won't care. He'll be dead.

Hopefully before the midterms.

In my opinion, the Democrats aren't preparing for this at all. They will be caught flat footed on election day. Then they will be in shock and outraged about it. We need 10 or 15 like Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez handling things not Schumer and Jefferies.

A major amount of intimidation is what's in-store for the voting public but, we can't be scared to show up and vote! Mail-in ballots must be mailed as early as possible and keeping track of their progress through the system is going to be very important. Plus everyone voting on election day needs to be aware of their registration status and we shouldn't be afraid because we are doing everything correctly and in massive numbers! So massive, they won't be able to mess with the results and deny the winners! We got this!

Jason Merchey's avatar

Oh, I am definitely not scared to vote. But then again I am a citizen and I am registered and my county is not completely whack. I worry about how all of this will affect the 10% of the populace that could be deterred by the skullduggery.

Glen's avatar

It’s up to the individual states and the federal justice system, to find Trump guilty, convicted him for the crimes he have committed!

Jason Merchey's avatar

The corrupt GOP and the lazy/entitled Dems have wrought this over four decades—think of the way the GOP reacted to Clinton. Gingrich was a democracy-destruction device. Now we must face this head on. The food news is that we will either prevail and get back more power, or we will fail and it will be the end of America as we knew it back in the 1980s when I grew up. Although of course, that is frightening and Orwellian in nature, at least we will all be on the same page then. Well, at least 75% of us will be. Government cannot control 75% of the populace if they’re distressed and outspoken and non-cooperative.

Russ's avatar

My thinking exactly. Neither party has clean hands. Instead of bringing America together both parties have gone to war with each other and into the abys a monster takes charge.

Dems have done more to elect Trump than anything the Repubs have done. How so? Dems fundamentally push the false narrative that USA is the most racist country on the planet. Seriously? So racist we have had a black president and a black VP and NEVER a white woman in either, At every opportunity Dems use racism to paint issues. Essentially whites are the always the problem. This, coming from white Democrats making the charge they are superior. So how do you think whites take this when it comes to voting?

As for elections....."Trump and his movement have insisted that American elections are fundamentally rigged.

If they are so rigged how was it the Repubs got majority in both houses and using that majority installed SC justices whose main theme is to support Trump.

Ralph Waller's avatar

The amount of election fraud in USA elections is so small that it is virtually non existent in reality. To believe otherwise only helps Trump and company to actually commit fraud. This is a dangerous irony and could result in the total collapse of democracy (small d).

Russ's avatar

Agree, however it does beg the question. If it is so rigged, how is it that the majority ends up being Republican? Even when Trump wins, it is still rigged? Tell a lie enough, it becomes the truth???

All those complaining for the preservation of "democracy" need to rethink that. Our democratic voting system, ended up electing the least qualified man on the planet. We need a better set of standards. No felony convictions, no foreign business interests and no gaming the system to make more money while in office like using Truth Social as official communications. Send the airplane back to the Arabs and tell Trump kids to stop using their daddy's influence to feather their nests.

Cathy Delia's avatar

Character needs to become important again. Trump is a horrible person. That is part of the reason we are in this mess.

Despite the tools at his disposal&the “advice” of creepy Stephen Miller, I’m more hopeful of an honest election outcome in November. Why? Firstly, the current attempts to control&subvert haven’t worked - militias removed or on the sidelines in cities&states and ICE backs down in Minneapolis, their funding under scrutiny in Congress. Secondly, the courts have mattered, which means that avenue is there when Trump’s next broadsides land. And finally, although Congress has not taken any leadership, doing nothing has put them under enormous pressure to justify their complicity and they are smart enough to know their own re-election could hinge on that. Canadian here - hey America - don’t let those 74M American ignoramuses who voted for orange haired slug let him hijack the Nov election, you’re better than that.

Trump, if he is any King, he is the King of Chaos. When will this ever end?! None of this right! Is he that malignant?! Why does he continue?! Is it because of all the deals he made in his life that went bad? All the business deals that went south. All the bankruptcies? Is he trying to get even with us all! What is his problem?! Trump is definitely no King Midas. Everything he touches turns to lead and it is sinking this country real fast! I call out the 25th Amendment! We must put an end to this madness!
