The Trump administration is set to halt SNAP benefits for 42 million Americans starting November 1, even though $6 billion in contingency funds exist that legal experts say must be used. Unlike during previous government shutdowns, when benefits were pre-funded, the administration is refusing to act and blaming Democrats with false claims.

A subreddit theory suggests Trump could attempt a third presidential term by claiming states cannot enforce the 22nd Amendment, citing Trump v. Anderson. The idea is that states would put him on ballots and leave enforcement to Congress or the Supreme Court. In reality, the 22nd Amendment is self-executing, and states routinely enforce eligibility. Any attempt to put Trump on a ballot would face immediate legal challenges.

Farmers are critical of Trump’s agricultural policies, arguing they harm U.S. agriculture instead of putting America first. Tariffs have raised costs, the trade war with China wiped out soybean sales, and Trump’s purchases of Argentine beef undercut domestic ranchers. These policies benefit foreign producers and large corporate packers while leaving U.S. farmers struggling.

During a speech at a U.S. naval base in Japan, Trump appeared disoriented, rambling about magnets, hydraulics, and renaming the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Troops were left silent and confused as he jumped between unrelated topics, from submarines “fishing” to grocery prices being “way down.”

Concerns about Trump’s health continue after his visit to Walter Reed, where he reportedly had an MRI that the White House has refused to explain. Trump described the results as perfect, yet no details were provided on why imaging was done or what it revealed. MRIs are typically performed only when symptoms or abnormal tests warrant them.

Trump is panicking about 2026, posting on Truth Social demanding mail-in and early voting be banned for the midterms. His post compared NBA players cheating at cards to Democrats cheating in elections and pushed the false claim that 2020 was stolen. He did not specify who would enforce the ban, but higher turnout favors Democrats.

A 70-page report from the center-left group Welcome finds that 70% of voters see Democrats as out of touch. The study highlights the party’s leftward shift on cultural issues, which has failed to win non-white voters. It recommends returning to centrist positions on immigration and crime and focusing on economic issues. Progressives disagree, arguing moderation has failed and the party should move further left.

Finally, Trump posted another incoherent rant on Truth Social accusing the Biden administration of spying on lawmakers and rigging the 2020 election, forgetting he was president at the time. He blamed FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom he appointed, for supposed wrongdoing.
