The electoral vote was massive, but that is a trick put in place to give slave owners equal power over the non-slavers. Is not the voter roll essentially a roll of American CITIZENS? Why would ICE have ANYTHING to do with that? And thanks, Congress, for giving the Agency unlimited funding to help to further undermine the confidence of US voters (sarcasm).
If they can access our info, why can’t the names and backgrounds of the “pole watchers” be made available? I’d be interested to know how many have been in jail, arrested for physical violence, or whether they’ve had any training to pole watch. Given the depraved thugs of 1/6 fame, I’m betting they only know one kind of pole watching and I’m not in the mood to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Shocking, the US Govt has everyone in their data base. Okay, not all the illegals. You gota social security number? You collect social security, Medicare, Medicaid? Get Obamacare? States get education funds from USG, bet they know who the kids are to justify enrollment. You pay taxes? Your employer reports wages to IRS.

Is it time to prepare for the worst?
While here in Canada most attention is focused on the new NHL season and preparing for winter storms, we are also keeping an eye on what is happening south of us. We can’t help it; it’s the mouse and the elephant, as Pierre Trudeau once said. I’ve been waiting and watching Donald Trump, certain that prior to the mid-terms he will come out with something so dangerous, so unconstitutional, so outrageous that it will shock even those who have almost lost the ability to be surprised by anything he does. I’ve already adjusted my retirement portfolio so that a crash in the American markets won’t hurt too badly, I’ve eliminated most American products from my shopping list, and I won’t be near a border when things hit the proverbial fan.
Every week it seems to get closer and closer. He manages to reach new lows when we think he couldn’t possibly. A public execution? Calling the Nobel Prize “corrupt”? A deal with Russia for diesel, right after Congress votes new sanctions on Russia? And now his DOJ is considering conspiracy sharers against the five media members who operate the White House press pool?
But what happened this week really, really scares me. In a speech in Baltimore, he raised the name of Russell Vought, his director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, who is the same person responsible for much of Project 2025. He said, “We have some big surprises coming up in another few weeks, right, Russ?” The president added, “He’s going to be one of the very important people in the history of our country, in my opinion. He’s got some great things happening.”
If that doesn’t scare you, it should. Project 2025 is the blueprint created by the Federalist Society for the takeover of America by Christian Nationalists. It’s already over 50% implemented under Trump’s administration. Its goal - as described by Trump himself - is to ensure that Democrats, and liberals generally, never have a chance to win an election again.
What I’ve been waiting for is that Big Surprise. A lot of people have wondered exactly what he has in store to hold on to power after November. People have talked about him declaring a national emergency to justify cancelling elections. Or perhaps sending armed ICE agents to voting locations in competitive districts to grab anyone who looks like a possible Democrat voter - no excuse needed, just something to cause small or large riots. Or perhaps having election workers accused of criminal offences, as is set out in his SAVE America Act, something that would allow him to seize ballot boxes and voting machines.
It’s just three weeks to go until Election Day. The polls are getting worse and worse for him. Even some formerly reliable Republican politicians are openly repudiating his polices on Iran, on tariffs, on threats against Canada, on Russia. A few have openly called for Republicans to formally break with Trump.
Something is going to happen. If Russell Vought is involved, it will be huge. It will be unconstitutional. And it could lead to armed insurrection as he once more calls on his base to rise up and take action against “the communists”.
I harp on this, but I can’t help it. The world is in big trouble if he succeeds. Americans, you have to take a stand more than ever before. You must vote. No excuses. There has to be the biggest turnout in US election history. You of the undecided middle, you Republicans who admit that Trump has gone too far - you will be the difference makers. Sitting back and thinking “Well, I just won’t vote for Trump” is not enough. A lot of Republicans - former members of a Congress, former judges, former armed forces leaders, former insiders and staffers - are publicly supporting their local Democrat candidates. Not because they necessarily want a Democratic Congress, but because they know that if the Democrats don’t win, the alternative will be much, much worse.
And yes, that affects us here in Canada. A lot. Because if Trump is galvanized by holding on to even one of the Houses, our independence is threatened. You are not safe, we are not safe, the world is not safe.
Be glad it snows there to keep you occupied with hockey. We do not have that distraction here. We have Trump full time, morning, noon and night. Please accept our apologies and pray for us.
