Trump Rally Goes Horribly Wrong, Supporters Visibly Disoriented
Donald Trump held a rally in Anchorage, Alaska on Saturday ahead of the 2022 midterms. The former president went there to support Sarah Palin, who’s running for US Congress, and to damage Senator Lisa Murkowski, whom he views as a RINO (Republican In Name Only). During the speech, Trump dropped an f-bomb to get the crowd’s attention. This shouldn’t matter much, however, the Republican Party claims to be the party of civility and family values and they don’t tolerate when Democratic presidents behave this way. At another point in the speech, Trump took credit for the COVID vaccine development, but recognized that that could upset some of the anti-vaxxers in the crowd. So he said, “but we did so much in terms of therapeutics and a word that I’m not allowed to mention but I’m still proud of that word. . . . but I’m not mentioning it in front of my people.” To wrap up the night, Trump brought up two people on stage who had shirts with pictures of Trump all over them. The ex-POTUS said, “I want it. I want that shirt” which prompted them to take their shirts off and give them to Trump. The cult-like behavior was on full display in Alaska and though Trump doesn’t have the iron-grip on the Republican Party that he once did, he still has a tremendous deal of influence over his own supporters.
Sick Sarah Palin Demands "Alaskan Chicks...Show What a Woman Is"
Sarah Palin, who’s running for the at-large House seat in Alaska, spoke at Donald Trump’s rally in Anchorage on Saturday and to those who expected bizarre word salads, she did not disappoint. At one point, Palin referenced Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearings and how she refused to define the word “woman” for one of the Republican senators. The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said, “to our leaders not being able to tell us, they don’t know what a woman is? Hey all you Alaska chicks out there maybe you can show them, tell them what a woman is.” At another point during her speech, Palin was visibly confused when telling the story about what made her decide to endorse Trump back in 2016. Alaskans have plenty of other options for this House race in November and hopefully they decide to choose someone else over Sarah Palin.

Republican DEFENDS Ban When Asked If 10-Year-Old Should Be Forced to Give Birth
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was on CNN’s State of the Union last week with Dana Bash and she refused to weigh in on whether a 10-year-old pregnant girl should be forced to have her rapist’s baby. Bash explained the situation which recently occurred in Ohio and how the girl needed to go to Indiana to get an abortion since it would be illegal to do so in her home state. Noem did her best to obfuscate in order to not answer the question. She said, “what’s incredible is nobody’s talking about the pervert, horrible, and deranged individual that raped a 10-year-old.” Obviously the rapist should be held accountable and go to prison for a long time, but the issue of urgency to address is what to do about the pregnancy. By the sounds of it, Noem would force the 10-year-old girl to go through with the pregnancy and have the child, which is an absolutely terrifying position to make public policy.

Philly Mayor Looks Forward to Not Being Mayor Due to Shootings
Jim Kenney, the Mayor of Philadelphia, is being attacked for saying he looks forward to the day he’s no longer in charge of the city so he doesn’t have to stay up late at night worrying about gun violence. Following last week’s Fourth of July parade shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, Kenney was asked about mass shootings by a reporter. He said, “there’s not an event, or a day where I don’t lay on my back and look at the ceiling and worry about stuff. So everything we have in the city over the last seven years, I worry about. I don’t enjoy Fourth of July, I don’t enjoy the Democratic National Convention, I don’t enjoy the NFL draft. I’m waiting for something bad to happen all the time. So I’m looking forward to when I’m not mayor and I can enjoy some stuff.” Some people are taking these comments to mean Kenney is not grateful for the position he holds or should step down immediately. But given how he clearly cares about the people of his city and takes the job seriously, it’s hard to take issue with what he’s saying.
