In contrast, the USA will become very much more attractive to both billionaires and also fugitives evading justice. If the President has immunity from his crimes then it makes the US like many other emerging nations such as Israel where the current PM has immunity from bribery charges as long as he holds office.
The Biden Administration, especially Kamala Harris during her campaign, addressed the concerns of the middle class. Joe Biden is a great president but he made the same mistake made by Ruth Bader Ginsberg. He thought he had more time. When the stakes are this high, it never pays to gamble. The loss was because of money interests, misogyny that we never expected was so extensive, and a media that normalized a campaign that was anything but. The outrage is warrented but the blaming needs to stop and we have to roll up our sleeves and get back in the fight. We have a hell of a lot of work ahead of us.
I'm sorry if this offends anyone but prayers were worthless in this election. We wasted our time and should have listened to the atheists. This explains why so many bad things have happened to me over the course of my life (72 yrs). Prayers don't work (except for the people who voted for him). There is absolutely NOTHING positive that will result from this election. Appointing Aileen Cannon as AG is only the tip of the iceberg. We are toast.
I wonder what will happen when the Secretary of Health stops requiring polio vaccines and kids start getting polio in an epidemic. I wonder what will happen when there is no Dept. of Education which protects the rights of children who get special education services. I wonder what will happen when the white working men without high school educations figure out they've been scammed by Trump and are paying more taxes plus tariffs making life harder for them. I wonder if there will even be another election. Thanks to David Pakman for all his good research and information sharing. It's MORE important now. Keep the bastards honest!
Why didn't the judges sentence Trump BEFORE the election?? Why did they wait for him to be re-elected? What they have done is shameful. I still can't believe that he won. I am so depressed.
Despite historically positive economic indicators (4.1% unemployment, 2.4% inflation, rising wages), the 2024 US election outcome was largely predetermined by three intersecting factors: First, the worst-ever gap between economic reality and public perception (consumer sentiment at 70.5 vs historical average 85-90), driven by lingering high price levels and amplified by predominantly negative media coverage, particularly through right-wing and social media channels. Second, the unprecedented -28.9 point perception gap (exceeding both Reagan and Obama eras) created conditions where historically 82% of such elections result in government change, as people vote on perceived rather than actual economic conditions. Third, running a mixed-race female candidate (Harris) against a white male in conditions of poor economic sentiment added further headwinds, based on historical voting patterns where gender and racial factors compound negative sentiment. These structural factors created such strong fundamentals against the incumbent Democrats that campaign execution became largely irrelevant to the final outcome, with Trump's simple message of economic discontent resonating more strongly than statistical defenses of good economic performance.

Night of the living sword?
Since I myself drank deeply of the kool-aid, I certainly understand how this came about.
From Regan and the destruction of the middle class, along with women's rights...
We slept our way to now. Simply a much needed wake up call.
I have faith.
