I can't wait to read your latest book. The Echo Machine was very informative. I sure hate that they are coming after independent media like yours. They are out to silence everyone who has common sense.
Independent media is our only hope, so it is under deep attack. Here is where we are with the traitorous MSM:
From the Congressional Record January 27, 1917: JP Morgan, Steel, Shipbuilding, and “powder” interests hired 12 high-ranking newspaper execs to determine how to “control generally the policy of the daily press” throughout the entire country.
Answer: They found it was only necessary to purchase the control of 25 of the greatest papers. …the policy of the papers was bought, to be paid for by the month; an editor was furnished for each paper to properly SUPERVISE AND EDIT INFORMATION…. This policy also included the suppression of everything in opposition to the WISHES of the interests served.”
You can draw a straight line from this revelation over a century ago to this:
“Comcast owns NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, Universal Pictures, and dozens of cable channels. Disney owns ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, and just absorbed most of 21st Century Fox. Warner Bros Discovery owns CNN, HBO, the DC universe, and a sprawling empire of cable networks. Paramount Global owns CBS, Showtime, MTV, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. Sony controls a massive chunk of the music and film industry. And News Corp, the Murdoch empire, owns Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and newspapers across three continents.
Your local news station that you think is independent? Probably owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, which controls nearly two hundred television stations across America and forces them all to read the same scripted editorials.
Your favorite newspaper? Bought up by a hedge fund or a billionaire who wanted a mouthpiece. Your streaming service? Owned by one of the six. Your social media feed? Curated by algorithms designed by Silicon Valley billionaires to keep you angry and engaged and clicking.”
David, I couldn't find you on the media offenders list, until I used your link to the page with your name. It is alarming, but not many people will see it. Insane that someone at the White House thinks this important- the sooner the bastards are gone, the better. Keep up the good work, you radical, lunatic leftist- I'm with you!
The "hyperbolic titles and thumbnails" are why I almost never watch political videos on YouTube anymore. (My only other social media is Bluesky.) I do like reading your written analysis here on Substack.
Have you ever heard of the saying "never judge a book by it's cover".......if you never watch anything independent, you're as misinformed as a fox news channel regular.
I’m a longtime listener and really appreciate your thoughtful approach and analysis on the important issues of our time. I just preordered PAY ATTENTION and am looking forward to reading it.
Thanks for continuing to keep people informed. Journalists are hard to find these days, especially in the corporate mainstream media, whose lackluster job at calling out corruption and lies is a reason we find ourselves in the current predicament. We need to get educated and fix this mess!
'World without Mind, The Existential Threat of Big Tech' was written in 2017 and goes back in history to the 1960's. And I am sure there were prior others, so that your book is no spotlight for any admin to get cranky about allegedly! I will see if our library has it! Thanks for sharing your brain and good attitude.
The United States has long been known as the “land of freedom.” Seeing it ranked only 29th on the global freedom index made me reflect on how much the country has changed. I have to admit that it has been a long time since I truly believed in that image.
I spent about a year and a half in the United States during the 1980s, spread over several visits lasting weeks. The America I see today is very different from the one I remember.
From here in Denmark, one often hears the claim that “half of Americans are stupid.” I do not believe that for a second. I believe the real problem lies elsewhere. In my view, the greatest challenge is an education system that too often fails to equip citizens with the critical thinking skills needed to navigate misinformation, propaganda, and political polarization. People are rarely born incapable of sound judgment. More often, they are failed by the institutions that should have prepared them.
I am now retired, and my budget does not allow me to buy many books on the subject. Instead, I follow people like you and other journalists and commentators who are trying to bring facts, reason, and perspective into the public debate.
I sincerely hope the United States finds its way back to the values that made so many people around the world admire it.
Thanks David and everyone else who commented about my comment in regard to my surprise that I am not on the same list due to my book "ALCATRAZ AWAITS: The Legacy of Donald Trump." I always thought that convicted felons should go to prison which is one of the reasons for writing the book. David, keep up the good fight.

Appreciate your support, Sheryl!

I'm surprised my name isn't on that list after my book "ALCATRAZ AWAITS: The Legacy of Donald Trump" came out. It's all over the internet.

I prefer to read, widely.
Pre-order is done! Looking forward to reading it.
Hello David,

Amazon UK has no option to pre-order it. 😐
Pre ordering!
Just curious to know if there was a filter placed in this post to see how many would notice.
When will your book be available in the UK? At the moment it's not on Amazon and I'm struggling to find it elsewhere.
I preordered the book! I can’t wait and I’m sure it will be illuminating.
