Today is Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and this is your news and preview of today's show.

Donald Trump erupted on Truth Social with a caps-lock-filled tirade accusing Barack Obama of orchestrating a “coup” after the 2016 election, calling it “the crime of the century” and demanding “they must pay.” Trump shared a video featuring conservative historian Victor Davis Hanson, alleging Obama-era intelligence officials conspired against him. This narrative echoes claims by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard that the Obama administration fabricated Russian election interference, despite unanimous confirmation by U.S. intelligence agencies and a bipartisan Senate report that Russia did interfere in 2016.

In another Truth Social post, Trump told Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to “go to hell” over stalled nominations, accusing Democrats of political extortion, while praising Republican leaders Mike Johnson and John Thune for passing the so-called “big beautiful bill." Meanwhile, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene announced she is distancing herself from the Republican Party, saying the base has lost sight of its key issues and criticizing the treatment of women within the GOP.

Newly released documents called the “Durham Annex,” touted by Trump as proof of a conspiracy by Democrats and the “deep state” to fabricate Russiagate, include emails that U.S. intelligence agencies say were likely forged by Russian operatives. Experts warn the documents do not provide new evidence but instead show a Russian disinformation campaign.

In healthcare news, the White House has reversed course on a campaign pledge to mandate insurance coverage for in vitro fertilization. Officials cited legal constraints, with no current legislation to support the mandate. Advocacy groups say this leaves families struggling with infertility without promised assistance.

Finally, digital content creators report that extreme clickbait and exaggerated video titles are losing effectiveness as audiences grow tired of misleading content. Platforms like YouTube and TikTok are rewarding genuine engagement over sensationalism, signaling a shift in online media consumption.

On the Bonus Show today:

Texas Democrats block GOP redistricting plan by fleeing the state.

More on Marjorie Taylor Greene saying the Republican Party has lost touch with its base.

And Fox News' Charlie Hurt backs up Trump's accusation that the BLS was putting out fake job numbers.
