Today is Thursday, September 25, 2025, and this is your news and preview of today’s show.
A new viral video is raising questions about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. It argues that the official account, which says Kirk was killed by a rooftop shooter firing from Kirk’s front-left, may be wrong. According to the video, slow-motion footage suggests the bullet actually entered from the back right of Kirk’s head and exited through the left side of his neck. That would contradict the government’s narrative. Other footage from different angles appears to show the bullet traveling from front to back, consistent with the official account. Analysts say the slowed-down clip may simply show an artifact near Kirk’s head rather than the bullet itself, but the video has fueled intense debate online.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s Department of Justice is preparing an indictment against former FBI Director James Comey. The case focuses on alleged misstatements in Comey’s 2020 Senate testimony about the Russia investigation. Reports indicate Trump recently replaced the U.S. Attorney in Virginia after he refused to pursue the charges.
New polling shows trouble for Democrats. A Reuters/Ipsos survey finds that while Trump’s overall approval rating stands at just 41 percent, Republicans are more trusted than Democrats on nearly two-thirds of major issues. That includes immigration, where Trump scores his highest approval, and even on questions of extremism, where the public remains evenly divided.
In other developments, a hidden-camera video from conservative activist James O’Keefe shows senior DOJ investigator Glenn Prager claiming that Trump is shielding “a lot of people” by withholding Jeffrey Epstein-related files. The Justice Department says Prager has not had access to those records in over a decade, but the remarks have spread widely online.
