I think they lobotomized him to make him docile while transitioning power to JD Vance. Those black bags contained chunks of his Big Beautiful Brain.

You are much too optimistic. His brain would easily fit into a tee cup if it could be found.

Hilary is saying that we are the new Hermit Nation. Our allies do not want to do business with us, and Trump keeps cutting our lifelines to the rest of the world. We are not winning, we are losing more in 6 months than anyone ever thought possible. Trump wants to remake the US in his image: Felonious, sickly, poor, tacky, and something even the mafia won't have anything to do with.

Trump's brain is riddled with dementia. I'm more worried about what Miller & his goons are doing. THEY are running this show, and it's a real shit show. They are dangerous as hell! They are going FULL speed for Project 2025. Make no mistake about that. AND... with a Traitorous SCOTUS, this will be VERY difficult. No question about it. I hope our allies take this country to the ICC for prosecution. She's correct imho. Our allies are getting very fed up with the lies and BS.

The only thing that Rudy G deserves are the gallows. Trump leaving going dying will only be the figurehead gone the problems will remain. Vance will continue the agenda with his puppet master Theil in charge which could be much more frightening. The Epstein issue for the most part will be moot at least as far as Trump goes. I guess in some ways it will be a small step in the right direction. The Trump family will still have too much influence I feel.

Keep the champagne in the case for now.

How much is a MOF award worth? Do not think it will cover his bankruptcies.

Rudy is a great example of what happens to a good man when he associates with Trump. In the end Rudy got hung out to dry with no lifeline from Trump. Not feeling sorry for him as he should have known better. This is what happens to suck ups.

Waiting for the axe to fall on Ts cabinet secretaries. They will get tarred and feathered like Kelly and Mathis.

The saddest part of Trump’s unabated mishandling of the economy and subsequently the fall of the US position in the World Order is that nobody in the Republican Party had the cahoonas to step in and stop him on his mission. It might take the US a decade or more to regain its trust and credibility on the world stage after he leaves office.

Absolutely, they are guilty as he. Would be fun to be "fly on the wall" when Repubs face their voters on the way to bankruptcy court. The same congressmen that screamed about bailouts and welfare will be begging for them for farmers and ranchers to avoid being lynched.

And here in Canada....well, just look at Charlie Angus' comments.

Our experiment in democracy has it ups and downs. We are going through a pothole down phase.

There is a silver lining. All these countries have always expected the US to do all the heavy lifting at our expense. USA can no longer be all things to all people. That bubble has burst. All the countries that are looking down, should realize they need to look inward and stand on their own feet and help shoulder some of the burden the USA has born since WWII. Not a Trump supporter, but he is right, the US should not have to beg Europe to arm NATO and support Ukraine against Russia. Russia is on their doorsteps not ours, yet it is the US that is the main stay against Russia. At one point the US had half a million soldiers in Europe protecting them. The population of Europe far exceeds that of the US yet how is it their combined military is smaller than ours. It should be equal or better. Wake up Europe.

India now running into the arms of Russia and China is a good example of how our "friends" only like us for what they can get out of us. And will abandon us when the well runs dry.

Remember 5xbonespurs is responsible for Russia and China joining arms. Old bone spurs has put the world on notice and possible war. With this attitude from Russia and China old bone spurs has put the US in danger. We need to destroy MAGAs from the inside. Have democrats or progressives run as both "republican" and "democrat".

Does the awarding of the Medal of Freedom to Gulliani cause the medal to be less of a credible award?

Expand full comment
Russ's avatar

It has been used more to humiliate Dems than to reward. Rush Limbaugh got it during the Feb 4, 2020 joint session of congress. Dems were a captive audience who had to grin and bear it as the most hated man amongst Dems was given the award.

For those who did not know him, Limbaugh was Mr Conservative whose ideas flamed Republican thought for years. It was totally inappropriate to use that medal for political purposes. The award is for contribution to all Americans, not just for the Republican party.

David, Today’s preview piqued my curiosity about Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. I asked Google AI for more info and here is what I got back:

Section 4 of the 25th Amendment provides a mechanism for removing a president who is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" but is either unwilling or unable to voluntarily step aside. This complex process has never been formally invoked but has been considered during moments of national crisis.

How Section 4 works

The amendment outlines steps that create a high political bar against its misuse.

Initial declaration: The Vice President, along with a majority of the presidential Cabinet or another body designated by Congress, sends a written declaration to the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate stating the president's inability to perform duties.

Immediate transfer of power: The Vice President immediately becomes Acting President upon sending the declaration, assuming the powers and duties of the office.

President's counter-declaration: The president can send a written declaration to Congress stating they are able to resume their powers.

Congressional vote: If the president counters, the Vice President and Cabinet have four days to send a second declaration challenging the president's return. If they do, Congress must assemble within 48 hours and has 21 days to decide. A two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate is required to confirm the president's inability and the Vice President as Acting President. If this majority is not reached within 21 days, the president resumes their powers.

25th amendment and all other amendments require persons with integrity, courage and a conscience to use it. Apparently out to permanent recess. Laws no good if not enforced.
