What is the most fascinating about the whole thing is that they will learn absolutely nothing from it.

They have spent so long seeing a Boogeyman behind every tree that they will absolutely refuse to admit that this is mostly of their own doing. In Trump's mind (and the minds of his most adamant supporters) nothing is ever their fault. There was/is always some external force (fraud, hoax, etc) that was to blame for the losses. The Democrats could end up with a +40 in the House (not completely out of the realm of possibility, to be honest) and it will always be someone else's fault.

Some see it coming, but as soon as they hold up the mirror to the Cult of Trump, they are immediately chastised, ostracized, and PNG’ed out of the party. You only have to look at the reaction to the MTG retirement speech to see proof of that. True, she threw some low blows with bad intent in that speech, but she wasn't wrong. Instead of acknowledging the flaws and working on them, the Trump Party tarred and feathered the messenger.

My biggest concern is how he/they will react. Trump's schoolyard bully foreign policy (punch down to anyone who can't fight back and appease near-peers) turned onto ordinary citizens might have some scary consequences.

Not counting on knockout punch for Dems. The span between now and then is a lifetime in political calculus. Still time for Dems to screw up their chances by dragging out the same tired stuff that got them defeated. DOJ will be sniffing in every closet. Dems still need to wake up and present a platform that is positive for everyone. Would also help to show how it can be paid for.

They want and have tried to install a system of complete oligarch rule....this is probably the closet they've come. They tried before the Civil War ...hence the Civil War. Again in the late 1800s leading to the Guilded Age of robber barons. Again with Reagan. They chose Trump again this go around and if it weren't for the complete incompetence and the chaos within the party they may have succeeded.

They will try again because they believe it is the only way to govern and control the masses. It has mostly been this way throughout history until about the 20th century.

Wait until Vance and Theil get their turn....but they need Trump out before the end of his term. I can't believe that he/ they could be elected. But then again looked what happened......

I'll just leave this here....

With all that we know about the Orange 💩, with all that we've observed, with all of his threats, etc, etc, etc...

Do you REALLY REALLY REALLY think that he won't pull some stunt(s) to make sure the 2026 mid-terms DO NOT HAPPEN?

Color me dubious. Color me doubtful.

Elbow Zupp! 🇨🇦

I would like to suggest that this most urgent philosophical topic be put on everyone’s Thanksgiving dinner table, to be served up with trimmings of one’s choice and debated/digested civilly: “When does moral supersede legal obligation, in the military and in life at large?” Bon appetit!

The 2026 election will be a joke!!! The polling places will be monitored by ICE, the Coast Guard and other federal officials. When we try to vote we will be intimidated and run out of the polling place before we can put a pen to the ballot. If we resist, we will be arrested and sent off to one of their gulags. So, David, how do we get ready for this rigged election?

"They love him." But the real question is do they REALLY like him? Think not.

Love may well be the last thing left when everything else disappoints.

Parents "love" their kids. However, there are limits to love. When they cross the imaginary line by committing crimes, abuse drugs or lie and steal from them that love becomes meaningless.

David, all your analysis is spot on. But Agent Orange understands. He also understands that if he leaves the WH, he's got 34 felony convictions waiting for sentencing. You're view makes sense in a normal world, but in this world he will do anything to stay in power as long as possible. Look for a manufactured crisis next autumn that he'll use to suspend the Constitution, and elections.

Yes but...this bunch is amoral and desperate to stay out of jail. A MAGA guy already bought Dominion, controlling half the voting machines in US elections. And every day they are cruising for a bruising to stir up an insurrection. So much can happen in a year. I hope you are an oracle, sir.

Polls are BS....that 37 % is the same number for the past 8 months! WTF? EVERYONES been saying his (Trump's) poll numbers are tanking dropping cratering...blah blah....but yet it is always 37%. It should be 20 or below.....lmk when it really drops.....to 36. JC.

My biggest concern is, will Democrats step on yet another rake and piss away their gained advantage after the midterms? It MUST be a priority for the voters to remove the establishment Democrats. Any Rep or Senator who takes money from corporations, PACS and billionaires must be removed, and laws enacted to nullify Citizens United.
