The layering and transferring of funds reminds me of the dark money situation in elections. When the Dems take over in November, we need to revamp the FEC and pass laws over veto to stop big money from buying our elections.
I also want 1) abolition of the electoral college, 2) universal health care, 3) a path to citizenship. I could add expansion and safeguards re: SCOTUS, but I don't want to make my list too long. :-)

Two nearly identical “America 250” money buckets, one congressionally chartered and one Trump-flavored, is exactly the kind of patriotic shell game this crowd treats as a business model. If donors thought they were funding the official national anniversary commission but got routed into a White House-backed vanity project, that is not branding confusion. That is the grift wearing a powdered wig and humming “Yankee Doodle.” Nothing says celebrating 250 years of democracy like possibly misleading people about where their money went, then wondering why the fireworks had more smoke than public enthusiasm.
