If America was a democracy, a true democracy and not the bullshit corporate version of bullshit democracy there would be referendums at the national level.

The referendum would be should abortion be legal and a human right?

Let the people decide. Maybe it should be exclusively women who decide because they’re the ones that get pregnant and suffer the agony of being pregnant because pregnancy is a shit condition that causes health problems for women the rest of their lives and causes premature death.

The Bible assholes can’t even find anything in the Bible that forbid abortion. The truth is the God of the Bible is a baby killing machine. When God goes on his killing spree he doesn’t spare pregnant women. He kills them too because God is an asshole fictional character.

When it comes to abortion Christians are full of shit but so is anyone who believes that there is a God that is benevolent.

Maternal mortality rate has tripled in the US since 1985.

The so-called "Christianity" perpetrated by these people is the patriarchal version that requires men's control over women's fertility.

It's a power-corrupted version of original Aramaic spiritual teachings--that didn't even acknowledge "God" as the "Father": but as a he-she, father-mother concept, the One.

But when the Aramaic teachings were first translated into Greek, the "Queendom" of this One--a feminine term related to the Earth--had no equivalent in Greek.

So it was rendered "Kingdom" in Greek instead, appropriate to "God the Father".

The Greek was then translated to Latin: and this "Christianity" was made into a state religion by a Roman Emperor.

And much later the Greek-to-Latin version was translated from Latin into English: and eventually from Greek directly into English, as the familiar King James bible.

Just so you know where the "Kingdom of God the Father" came from, with its need to control women--basically to establish paternity, for issues of inheritance.

But neither can controlling men tolerate having their progeny aborted.

The gnostic gospels tell a different story when it comes to women. Eve was a spiritual being.

Before Christianity invaded the British isles there were goddesses equal to the gods,

Angels are depicted as androgynous. When I was a child and I saw pictures of angels I thought they were female.

A better state to be in the spiritual is androgynous.

The apostle Paul was a misogynist and a funny thing about him is that he was never around when Jesus allegedly existed.

Mary Magdalene wrote a gospel that was excluded by the roman church. The other lie we have been told is that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. There were three people named Mary. One was the blessed mother, the other one was Mary Magdalene, and then the other Mary.

The other Mary was a sex worker but that doesn’t mean she was a whore. She sold her body. The real whores are the ones who sell their souls.

I can’t agree with your remark about men tolerating having their progeny aborted. That sounds like feminist BS. The counter argument to that would be that women seduce men to capture their DNA. I know there is truth to that because a lot of women get knocked up to conqueror a man. They’re out there to find a rich guy. Look how these rich guys trade their wives in on a new model. The younger ones they end up with, have sold their souls. They’re not the kind of women who would have a life with a working guy. Lots of gold diggers out there.

I’m not wealthy but when I was a working musician women threw themselves at me just like they did the other guys in the band. I was frequently sexually assaulted as were my bandmates. We would get propositioned in spite of the fact that some of these pathetic women knew that we either had a girlfriend or were married. So, when we refused them we had to be pretty sly and diplomatic about it. He couldn’t just tell them to fuck off cause then they’d have a fit specially if they were drunk.

Some man found it flattering that some woman would grab their ass And handle them like meat. Some of us were kind of disgusted by it.

Look at how young women swollen over those boy bands and male musicians. This isn’t something new. They would swoon over Frank Sinatra and they would swoon over the Beatles and Rudolph Valentino. It was disgusting. One of my guitar players had to get two restraining orders against women who stalking him.

I understand why men treat women like sex objects and I think it’s because that’s how a lot of people want to be treated. I happen to have higher standards I’d like it never be intimate with some pig looking at me like I was a sex object.

I don’t paint all women with the same brush because the majority of them are respectful but a significant percentage of them are not the kind of girls you would take home to beat your mama.

There is a persistent mistranslation in the Bible of "houri"--temple dancer--as "whore". (The Scottish pronunciation of "whore" as "hoor" sounds virtually the same.)

This is held to derive from an era of Goddess religions that predates patriarchal religions, when temples to the Great Goddess were attended by pristesses. Normally they were celibate, but on one day in the year they went outside the temple, permitted to have sex. Any children resulting from the union were regarded as sacred to the Goddess and brought up within the temple precincts. I don't remember which book I read this in--it was too long ago.

The "three Marys" in the Bible are held to be surviving mythological representations of the Triple Goddess ie the three visible phases (waxing, full, waning) of the Moon--the "White Goddess" whose mythology is examined by the poet and scholar Robert Graves in his book of that name. The three aspects correlate with life stages of Maiden, Mother and Crone.

The Moon was particularly identified with women / the Goddess due to the 29 day lunar cycle to orbit the Earth being the average length of a menstrual cycle.

The Moon also rules the tidal

movement of the sea: the Latin name for the sea "Mare" is closely related to "Mary".

Yes Paul was a misogynist.

My remark was about "controlling men" who do not tolerate abortion: both the kind who engage in domestic violence (the crime of "coercive control" was recently introduced into law) and authoritarian misogynists who simply believe that women are inferior beings and exist only to serve men--a view still reflected in the "honour and obey" marriage vow of the established church.

Not all men are controlling: but cultures based on patriarchal religions encourage men to be controlling. Violent sexual abuse like rape is not so much about sex, but about power.

Women were regarded in English law as chattels--as the property of their husbands--until the Married Women's Property Act of 1870: which enabled them to own their own earnings, and to have property in their own names. But women were still not allowed to vote until a little over 100 years ago.

I have no comment on your experience of the music world as I know nothing about it.

But your comment that a lot of women are treated by men as sex objects "because a lot of [people] want to be treated that way" is a classic excuse of rapists--"she wanted it"--in a victim-blaming culture modelled by the Adam and Eve myth: "she picked the apple, she offered me the apple--it's all her fault".

Adam disowns all responsibility for being thrown out of Paradise, despite his too having eaten the apple.

As creatures functioning in this world both Male and female sapiens are flawed in how to function and Religion, particularly Abrahamic ones complicated the whole thing. It was designed to domesticate women. The Bible as we know it is a collection of books and some of those books are more bullshit than the other ones.

When you look at the biology of the Homo sapiens And how the evolved and what it took for them to survive is what drove evolution. The woman menstrual cycle happens 13 times per year. My sister suffered from it more than most with Excruciating 😖 pain and sometimes psychotic episodes. What sort of God would allow that level of suffering? She was hell on wheels. Her husbands didn’t know who she was going to be from one day or one minute to the next.

Menopause is an emotional roller coaster that starts early and can last for years and it impacts the entire family. It is still misunderstood and not adequately treated. What kind of a God would allow that come up with something like that?

Independent of the Bible BS men have referred to their wives as shrews, the ball & chain and battle axes.

In the story of Genesis Eve was framed. The Gnostics say the talking snake was Jesus liberating Eve & Adam from a tyrannical fake God. The punishment to all women was the “CURSE “. The curse is menstruation And agonizing dangerous and painful childbirth.

Islam is even more brutal when it comes to females. The pedophile perversion is so vile that it makes Republican men look almost human.

There’s no arguing it. Women are treated terribly but so are men. There is more than just one double standard.

If I was a female by the time I was in my late 30’s I would have my ovaries removed and go on HRT. I have a female friend who has late stage breast cancer. She suffered clinical depression until she reached menopause.

It I had high PSA numbers I would get an orchiectomy.

I don’t know if primates Suffer for the way sapiens do what comes to hormones. I’m thinking that they don’t.

I wonder what it would be like to be androgynous like the angels.

The gelding is a castrated horse that would be too dangerous to be around humans and other horses.

Yes, I agree that dogmatic religious beliefs can cause an immense amount of harm to other

people--think about the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the European witch craze...

And the fact that the "Abrahamic" religions--which include Islam--owe their name to a man prepared to kill his own child to "prove" his belief in "God" is hardly anything to celebrate: what kind of a society glorifies men who are willing to murder children for ANY reason?

But this was originally a jealous old volcano god who demanded absolute allegiance, or vengeance was guaranteed--a malignant narcissist model of deity, much like Donald J. Trump.

I am very sorry to hear about your sister's suffering: it sounds like she might have had polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or even endometriosis (or both) which even now usually takes at least seven years to diagnose.

I learnt as a girl at school in the 1950s to call it "The Curse" (not to be spoken of otherwise).

And as a punishment of Eve / all women by "Jehovah", pronouncing any such "curse" just further exemplifies the callousness of the men who wrote / distorted the Garden of Eden myth: probably the priestly Levites.

(Allegedly the Genesis Expulsion myth is a distortion of an earlier Babylonian myth about a healing goddess Ninti who lived in a grove of trees...)

And sadly Western medicine is modelled very much on the default male when it comes to medical research: women are routinely excluded from clinical research BECAUSE our fluctuating hormones due to menstrual cycles are so inconvenient to medical researchers...

This even extends to trials on rodents: when only male rats or mice are used as experimental subjects. Too bad that men and women can react very differently to drugs only tested on men/ male mice or rats (I strongly disapprove of experimentation on animals).

Women are also much more often sent away with painkillers and not really believed when we complain of pain--compared with men who are much more often referred to sspecialists for further investigation.

It seems pretty likely to me (as a woman) that the current plague of menstrual and perimenopausal problems are very likely exacerbated, if not caused by, our lack of bare skin contact with the Earth with which we evolved as a species walking barefoot.

This meant we were constantly absorbing free mobile electrons from the ground (charged by constant lightning strikes from the ionosphere)--electrons necessary to neutralise "free radicals" or Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) constantly being thrown off by our metabolism, immune system etc.

Electron deficiency causes the unhealthy chronic inflammation that underlies all the killer "lifestyle" diseases: cardiovascular, cancer, diabetic, etc.

If you are interested, take a look at https://www.earthinginstitute.net/research for the range of health issues that "earthing / grounding" improves.

Please pass it on to your friend with late stage breast cancer.

There is also a very good explanatory book called "Earthing: the most important health discovery ever!" (2nd edition) by Clinton Ober & others, which is absolutely worth reading & acting on.

The "serpent" around the "Tree of Knowledge" is something I know personally as Kundalini / the Shakti / Earth energy (probably electrons)--which rises up the spine from the coccyx (tailbone) to the crown of the head (fontanelle) via the central channel Sushumna.

Kundalini / the Shakti ascends through seven "subtle energy" centres, from the lowest "root" chakra (Svadisthana) to the highest at the crown (Sahasrara)--where the goddess Shakti meets and "marries" the god Siva, in Hindu mythology.

Kundalini tends to be "woken" spontaneously in childbirth... Otherwise it takes training.

So--to account for the Genesis myth--it might just possibly have been a threat to men in priestly positions (or who fancied their own spiritual authority) to have women not only giving birth (which men can't do) but ALSO undergoing transcendent spiritual experiences too...

And yes men suffer too from the unnecessarily exaggerated sex role stereotypes that are forced on most of us from birth, at the expense of just exploring our humanness.

GabrielM's avatar

PS The ancient Mayans had a different name for Kundalini--which in India means a "coiled pot" as the "serpent" energy rises from being coiled around the coccyx, which are fused bones at the base of the spine, our lost tail.

(One Mayan Timekeeper claims that it was Mayan priests who originally took the knowledge of K to India--to account for the linguistic similarity)

The Mayans called it K'un-tan-lil-ni where "K'un" is the One, tan is breath, lil is vibration, and I've forgotten what ni means.

Backwards, it spells In-lil-nat-luk--the sacred which vibrates at the base of the spine.

Rising from the crown, it's Quetzalcoatl, the Plumed Serpent

Imagine if I was of child bearing age at this time. At 18 years of age I had an ectopic pregnancy, collapsed on my bathroom floor and had to be rushed into emergency surgery. Doctors did their job and save my life. In today’s environment I would be a dead duck!!! Thank God it was then and not now.

Abortion, birth control and any other thing that happen to women only should be decided by women. Abortion and birth control are medical, not religious in nature. B4 the christians come for me, listen to this; if you get pregnant (however that happened) if you seek a medical opinion you used to-be able to get an abortion. If you are religious in any way and do not believe in such things, so be it. If you are not religious you should be able to receive the abortion you are requesting. Simple. It is a matter of personal preference NOT POLITICS OR RELIGION.

I know that christian leaders, politicians and the oligarchs are getting abortions for their female relatives. But the rest of us…..this is BS!

About the controversy between Abortion and Pro-Choice, please consider this viewpoint. I am a Catholic woman and I am against abortion for ME. I am also Pro-Choice for all others who do not share my religious beliefs. I would never, ever presume to force my beliefs on those who do not share them. Just as strongly, I wouldn't want anyone to force their beliefs on me. The Supreme Court, the president must represent ALL AMERICANS, from the religious to the atheist and all in between. Because of this, they cannot push their own personal agendas forward. A president's job is to see that ALL AMERICANS have EQUAL REPRESENTATION AND PROTECTION. Being Pro-Choice fulfills that role. After all, it is Pro-Choice and doesn't mean "MUST" (have an abortion.) People can choose to exert the free will given to all of us by God. This gift will have consequences of our own own "DAY OF JUDGEMENT." That's up to the Almighty: Remember the bible story of the woman about to be stoned to death for committing adultery? Jesus intervened and said whichever of the men was without sin should cast the first stone. The stoning did not take place. Does this mean that Jesus was PRO-ADULTERY? of course not! I cannot judge any woman who chooses abortion and neither can anyuone else. That job is already taken by a God who is Forgiving, Loving, Compassionate and Just. Only He knows what is in our hearts to have to come to that heart breaking decision. Why do these people that claim they are only pro-life and are against abortion don't give a shit once that child is here and need financial and medical help because their parents can't afford it.

That argument holds no merit. It’s how some people felt about slavery back in the day. “I wouldn’t own a slave, but I would not infringe upon someone else’s right to be a slave owner.” Some things, such as murdering the innocent, should be against the law period.

Well dudes can get drugs through the mail easy-peasy to give them erections to let them perhaps CAUSE a pregnancy. But old fat white men can say oopsies- you get to be a mom and the poor kid gets to be a poor kid if they get her pregnant. And then waltz on thru their lives….

Republicans will never be pro-choice--they are too busy being pro-school shooting, pro-greed, pro-racism, pro-death, pro-billionaire, pro-enriching Russia, pro-tearing down government buildings, pro-illegal wars, pro-illegal tariffs, pro-environmental destruction, pro-criming, pro-stockmarket manipulating, pro-murder, pro-scamming, pro-dementia, etc. Bottom line: the complicit mainstream media cannot be trusted to inform the people.

In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade. I was 17. I thought, In my ignorance, why would someone need the right to kill their baby. My 85 year old great aunt moved in with us. She told me of the relatives who bled out at home. They did not have the money for another child. The dead new borns her father father found under trees at the local college when he worked as grounds keeper. Just like trump, people break the law. If your body will not release a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, septic uterus treatments are called abortions. Without these treatments, women will die. However, if you are a billionaire or one of the freaks voting against Roe vs Wade, no worries. Your, wife, daughters and granddaughters will be well taken care of.

Presumably, in tandem with Trump's white supremacist anti-immigrant policy, denial of abortion is part of a natalist policy: to compensate for an otherwise falling birth rate common to rich developed countries.

The result of defacto banning Mifepristone will be news they cannot hide.

I keep saying, it has to get worse before it can get better, in order to let people realize and accept major changes that will be needed in order to fix a system people know in their gut is broken.

I keep saying, Trump (and his minions) are still working hard on making him and his fellow Republicans increasingly unpopular, shifting the needle in more races, even senate races.

Those supporting the ban will be assured they have won, so no more need to fight. The vast majority, as has been shown in state amendment elections, oppose outright bans on abortions, which this basically tries to be.

In fact, the 'tele-health' specifically hits rural people the hardest and I suspect could extend beyond just Mifepristone.

This is clever in that they are not talking about abortion, just the prescribing and distribution of a specific medicine. You would have to call them out on their clear intent to change the narrative.

Even a clever argument proving the constitutional right to an abortion would not change this, deliberately making early abortions more dangerous than they need to be.

And yes, I do have a clever constitutional argument, MUCH stronger than the 'right to privacy with a doctor in regards to medical care', which was always going to be weak and totally escapes the core concept of "My body, My choice". 13th Amendment is explicitly clear on this point, especially when you associate providing Life Support to the fetus, and going through Labor to deliver, not to mention all the other damages done along the way during and after pregnancy.

Laws forbidding Abortion are basically forcing the woman to be in 'forced servitude' to the fetus.

Read the 13th again.
