He has to hire morons and yes men. He learned a hard lesson when he chose Mike Pence for his running mate. He complained to Mike Pence that he Mike was too honest“. He sent his mob of MAGATS after Mike Pence because Mike Pence stood up for the rule of law. How did the MAGATS reward Mike Pence? They tried to hang him by the neck on a gallows they built specifically for him and they shouted Hang Mike Pence.

MAGATS hated Mike Pence for a lot of reasons. Mike Pence is not a pig of a man. Mike Pence is not a pathological liar. Mike Pence is not a pedophile. Mike Pence doesn’t treat women like toilet paper. Mike Pence is not a thief.

The MAGATS hated Mike Pence so much that they tried to murder him as per Trump‘s orders. Maybe eugenics is not such a bad thing after all?

NO, morons are those who do not know better because they are intellectually challenged. These goons know damn well what they are saying, all a lie, plain and simple. These goons have no defense. It is a criminal act attempting to fool the public and make Big Brother happy. Shame on them. Not sure why they go public.

The growth percentage is meaningless. It is a concoction by economists that has very little application to Main Street. Ask anyone on the street if their cost of living has only gone up 2%. Better yet ask those thousands who just got laid off for Christmas what they think of "growth".

He hires people based on their TV ready looks and their loyalty to him. He despises anyone with true "expertise" because it makes him feel inadequate.

Agree, how is it that a guy that has everything you could want, money, women, property till feels inferior. Screaming example how money does not buy happiness.

Greed knows no limit.

What a wonderful Christmas present that would be. Not holding my breath. Not sure there is anything that can improve the state of Republican politics on the horizon except the mid terms. There is no fixing or negotiating with deadheads. They need to be voted out of office especially the more senior who lack courage and integrity.

I truly question how these economists performed in college and post graduate work. Honestly…. Or do they just think we are stupid ( and their cohorts destroyed the department of Education- really tells you the direction they are headed).

No expert here, but I majored in econ in college. It is purely an intellectual, math and statistical exercise crunching big numbers. When it comes out for the garbage it is, you good look at tv/web, read the Wall Street Journal and come up with something that does not get you fired. It is equivalent to using a wee-gee board. If you remember the tv show "Home Improvement"? Tim Taylor (Tim Allen) would screwup. Then he would go to see his neighbor "Wilson" who would always come up with an intelligent answer. Point being ask someone smart like Warren Buffett and you can get an honest answer. Do not ask a politician, especially running for re-election for an honest answer.

Yes, they think we are stupid. Unfortunately, the vast majority is, which is why we are in this mess.

Hassett gives me major creeps. He's the one guy I click off the screen faster than Trump. If Trump chose people who came across as serious and credible, the GOP would reach its evil goals sooner. So maybe it's just as well his mouthpieces are buffoons.

Trump has no knowledge of economics to begin with. This is a man with six corporate bankruptcies to his name. How can a person who can't manage money be expected to run a country's economy?

We want our $80 trillion back!!*Tax the bloated rich and restore the money we earned and were cheated of. 45 years of thievery is enough.

*from Heather Cox Richardson 12/20:

Republicans insisted cutting business regulations and taxes would usher in extraordinary economic growth that would boost the prosperity of hardworking Americans, leaving behind those unwilling to work.

Except it didn’t. A February 2025 report from RAND, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization, written by Carter C. Price found that if the system in place before 1975 had stayed in place, the bottom 90% of Americans would have had almost $80 TRILLION more in 2023 than they did.

When Democratic president Joe Biden took office in 2021, he set out to restore the economic system in place before 1981, protecting workers, boosting infrastructure investment, breaking up monopolies, and protecting consumers. It worked. Far from being an economic “disaster”, the Biden economy was, according to The Economist, “the envy of the world.” “The American economy has left other rich countries in the dust,” Simon Rabinovitch and Henry Curr wrote.

The only thing in politics and economics right now that could grow at 20 to 25% is resistance to these idiots. Hassett is the worst economist in the country - understands nothing, and proves it repeatedly by opening his too-wide smiling mouth and regurgitating what he thinks Trump wants to hear.

Trump quotes whatever numbers suit him at all times, so he actually is not at all interested in accuracy for the public. As long as he progresses in making more money for himself and building or naming monuments and memorials for himself then he feels motivated. Unfortunately, most Americans struggle while yet more grandiose objectives unfold.

Thank you for your clear description, David. One does not have to be an economist to understand the principles involved. All one needs is the ability to THINK. Pretty rudimentary thinking would actually suffice. Where did that ability vanish to in your country? Is it still there underneath all of the greed, fraud, and corruption? Under all of the absolutely horrendous cruelty and evil?

I hope that your president's experiment in fascism ends very very badly for him and for them and that they crash-and-burn very soon.

Even if you rebound economically, it will take, I fear, many many generations before your country will ever be trusted to be a world player again.

STAY STRONG but STAY SAFE. ♥️🇨🇦
