Trump announces he will be arrested AGAIN in crazed rant
Donald Trump has announced that he’s the target of an investigation by special prosecutor Jack Smith over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. This means that Trump’s third indictment could be coming in the next couple of weeks and it could arguably include the most serious charges so far. Trump responded to the news with an all-caps rant on Truth Social, posting, “WITCH HUNT!!! CROOKED JOE BIDEN & HIS INJUSTICE DEPARTMENT WANT TO INDICT & ARREST HIS PRESUMED POLITICAL OPPONENT (ME!), WHO IS LEADING HIM IN THE POLLS IN THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024. SUCH A THING HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN OUR COUNTRY BEFORE…AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAMPAIGN??? ELECTION INTERFERENCE & PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT!!!” If Trump is arrested again, there likely will be little to no impact on the Republican primary polling, based on how the electorate responded to his previous indictments. However, as these charges pile up there’s a stronger chance he’ll get convicted of something and maybe end up in prison, or at least be effectively unable to run for president.
Trump Fox News town hall so bad, even friendly Hannity can't save him
Former President Donald Trump's recent town hall on Fox News was disastrous, with him appearing low energy, confused, and making basic factual errors. Even his friend Sean Hannity couldn't save him from his ramblings, despite doing everything he could to throw him softballs and conduct damage control. Trump falsely claimed that the United States had become a communist country under President Joe Biden, despite stable economic indicators indicating otherwise and his likely not even knowing what communism is. Trump then made baseless assertions about Mexico paying billions for the border wall and demonstrated a lack of understanding regarding international agreements, such as his cavalier attitude towards NATO's mutual defense obligations. Trump is trying to refine and update the talking points he’s been using for years, as he faces multiple legal battles and tries to sustain the cult-like following that put him in the White House years ago.

MAGA PANIC as Lauren Boebert's opponent TRIPLES her fundraising
The race between Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert and Democratic challenger Adam Frisch in Colorado's third congressional district was a close one in the last election, with Boebert securing her reelection by fewer than 600 votes. Despite the narrow defeat, Frisch has announced his intention to challenge Boebert again in 2024 and already he’s off to a strong start. Frisch's fundraising has tripled Boebert’s, raising $2.6 million in the second quarter of this year, surpassing Boebert's $818,000. This fundraising success has alarmed even right-wing publications, speculating on Boebert's potential political extinction. This contest shows some enthusiasm among Democrats, who are energized and donating because they sense this seat is within their grasp. Boebert's continued controversial statements and actions have not helped her case either. Being closely aligned with Trump's MAGA movement, Boebert faces a critical test in 2024 and the outcome will likely depend on the country’s opinion of Trump at the time of the election.
From yesterday’s show:
DeSantis campaign COLLAPSING, fires 12 staffers
The Ron DeSantis campaign has reportedly fired around a dozen staffers, leading to speculation about whether DeSantis still has any shot at the Republican presidential nomination. While campaigns often claim that staff shake-ups are part of a reorganization or reallocation of resources, sources familiar with the situation suggest that the firings were a result of cost-cutting measures. DeSantis has faced difficulties gaining traction in the shadow of former President Donald Trump and doesn’t seem to want to criticize him. Despite raising $20 million in the first six weeks, there are concerns that the campaign hired too many staffers too early, leading to increased expenditures that they now need to make up for. Some blame has been directed at campaign manager Generra Peck, and even DeSantis's biggest donors are expressing their concerns about whether he still has a chance at winning. A leaked campaign memo obtained by NBC News reveals an attempt to reassure donors, emphasizing a focus on early states rather than investing in Super Tuesday battlegrounds. However, these strategic adjustments are often seen as a sign of a campaign's struggles, since they’re trying to spin the low poll numbers in their favor and make it look deliberate.

As a government employee that holds a security clearance, I cannot understand why the requirements attached to holding a clearance are not applying and thus preventing DJT from not only running, but holding office. Any one of the pending lawsuits or mishandling of classified data would cause my clearance to be immediately suspended. So while there is no law in place preventing an indicted or even incarcerated person from being president, it seems to me that one cannot hold that office without a clearance.
