I agree completely. voter suppression is a scary thing and going on as we speak. PLEASE, David, as often as you can, remind people to have a plan to vote. Everyone should check and make sure their voter registration is in order. The easiest way is to go to iwillvote.com. or call 833-335-8683. Nevada is already doing questionable things with the ballots of people who voted last time by mail. those folks can go to registertovote.NV.gov. We're going to need a landslide to make this happen. thanks for all you do, David. you're a hero.
Very astute analysis – except for one thing: why do so many people support Trump in the first place? Obviously, it’s not conservative values. Just ask the Cheneys. His monetary policies? That’s a joke. All trump offers is racism, xenophobia, and misogyny. Now, please explain how in the name of any gods there may be that about half of all American voters will vote for the trump/vance shit show? Or, is the answer just too obvious to bother with?
I see many of them believing he will put $$$ back in their pockets - foolish folks who didn't realize they got taxed on the 'FREE' money he gave away in 2020! Very uneducated folks in this country - especially in government and civics and most of all - they LACK HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE!
Because the majority of Americans just take it on face value that Trump was better for the economy than Harris will be. Harris is doing a good job explaining her policies on the border but she isn't doing enough on the economy. When she was asked the first question in the debate "are we better off than we were 4 years ago" she punted. IMO, she needs to answer this question in three parts: 1) Explain her economic policies as she has been doing (25K tax credit for 1st time home owners, 50K to start businesses, etc). 2) Then she should emphasize more the state of the economy that TRUMP left the Biden administration and the measures that they took to ensure a rapid recovery, in fact, even more rapid than any other modern nation in the world that had similar (but not as bad as the US due to Trump's mismanagement) issues caused by the global pandemic. Then 3) (and here's the zinger) When Trump took office, it was not HIS policies that contributed to a great economy, it was the momentum of the prior 8 years of the Obama administration that had to bail out the banks after the disastrous 2007 financial crash (caused by 8 prior years of republican mismanagement) and build back the economy brick by brick. Things were running smooth when Trump took over and it took him only 2 years to send it all to hell in a handbasket again... Just like the oil tanker that has to keep going several miles in the same direction once it decides it wants to turn around, Trump's economy was actually the successful Obama economy just taking its course...
Excellent economic analysis. But do you really think that “…Americans just take it on face value ….” that trump is really better for the economy? Or, could it be that that’s just a face saving rationale for xenophobia and so many other white “Christian” nationalists’ vileness?
“Because the majority of Americans just take it on face value that Trump was better for the economy than Harris will be.”
Well, certainly the majority if not all of Trump supporters do. So I think SOMEONE needs to point out how the economy actually works and no one, so far, is doing that and I can't figure out why...
I think it is a case of monkey see, monkey do. Being & showing racism, xenophobia, misogynism & other bigotry permitted other bigots that it was now ok to show it as well.
Yes, with all the voting right interference, installed crooked judges, the gerrymandering, ballot tampering, threats at the polls, post office delays/et, crooked election officials - Trump could win. It's the ONLY way. The huge majority of America is done with him.
David Pakman, a progressive political commentator, often analyzes news events from a liberal or left-leaning perspective, which can contrast sharply with conservative or right-wing interpretations of the same events. His analysis of Donald Trump, in particular, is typically critical, reflecting his broader ideological stance on Trump’s policies, actions, and rhetoric. It’s important to consider a few potential factors that might explain why his views appear so contrary to others:
1. **Different Interpretations of Facts**: People with different political views may interpret the same facts or events differently. What Pakman might present as evidence against Trump could be seen by his critics as biased or misrepresented, but Pakman may sincerely believe in the validity of his interpretation.
2. **Selective Use of Sources**: Like many media figures, Pakman may rely on specific sources of information that align with his viewpoint. If those sources frame stories in a particular way (e.g., emphasizing negative aspects of Trump’s behavior while downplaying or omitting counterpoints), it could lead to what you perceive as a skewed perspective.
3. **Confirmation Bias**: This is a cognitive bias where individuals favor information that confirms their pre-existing beliefs. Pakman, like many commentators, may be more likely to present information that reinforces his worldview, leading to potential blind spots regarding other perspectives.
4. **Political Strategy or Messaging**: As a progressive commentator, Pakman could also be engaging in messaging that aligns with his audience’s expectations. This doesn’t necessarily mean he’s lying, but rather that he’s framing issues in ways that resonate with his followers.
5. **Trust in Mainstream Media**: Pakman generally trusts mainstream media sources, which many Trump supporters and critics of the mainstream media view as biased against Trump. If you believe these media outlets are dishonest or unfair in their reporting on Trump, it might seem to you that Pakman is being deceived or propagating false information.
He didnt attack her race. Frankly, he stated he didnt care who she decided to be. It makes no difference to him. Are you sure we watched the same debate?
My understanding is that there are many ways the 2024 election may be falsely won by former President Trump.
Some Election Superintendents are Election Deniers who support Trump. These non-partisan Superintendents in swing state elections may be partisan and they may censor votes to favor Trump. If the outcomes are challenged and end up in the Supreme Court, the SC Judges are biased in favor of Trump and they may fear for their safety and the safety of their family members if they rule with integrity.

Because Harris offers worse than nothing

As I said, the answer is obvious.
Very sad

Vote blue and then check that it was counted!
