Every angry citizen is hanging their democracy hat on the midterms going solidly blue, but what IF the midterms turn out to be an illusion they've clung to as a last-ditch effort to save US democracy? How much of a powder keg does that scenario seem to be? One spark, such as the midterms not beng held, and the whole thing could go bang. This is the environment Trumpism has created, and there is a very real possibility of violence. I hate to even moot it, but I hear the anger from so many across social media. People are fed up and failure of the midterm elections might be the spark that ignites a nation. It is only my opinion, but it's a fear I have.
