Who was in charge of Congress when Gramm-Leach-Bliley was written for Clinton to sign? Answer: Republicans controlled both chambers of Congress throughout Clinton's second term.

As to RFK Jr., being a thorn is one thing, but being deliberately obtuse about things like vaccines is wholly different. I trust nothing that comes out of the mouth of RFK Jr. because he's not motivated by accurate research but by conspiracy theories and pseudo-science.

Trump probably has never read the Bible because I don’t think he’s even at a fourth or fifth grade reading level. The other thing about Trump in the Bible is that when he was sworn in last time Melania was holding two Bibles and Trump never put his hand on them. Maybe that was his way of telling the corporate rolling class that he is indeed the antichrist?

The MAGA tribe also claims to be Christian and have Christian values and they are probably just as ignorant of the Bible as Donald Trump is. People in the Bible belt have low IQ and high levels of immorality.

I take a little different view of RFK Junior And his healthcare stuff. There is evidence that a genic diet can be helpful with brain function. It is used as an adjunct to treat epilepsy and ADHD. RFK Junior is very skeptical of the American medical Mafi and particularly big Pharma. He is off base on some things but if he’s a thorn in the side to the American medical mafia, I see that is a good thing. Think about it, the last thing the medical industry cured was polio. Think about this, American life expectancy has been on the decline since 2014.

Think about this, maternal mortality rate has tripled since 1985.

Think about this, the affordable care act/Obamacare has made healthcare pretty much unaffordable. I realize it’s not politically correct to say what I’m about to say in the presence of liberals, but Barack Obama is also a rat bastard. It is also important to point out that the 2008 global recession that moved tremendous amounts of wealth from the bottom of the top was a result of Bill Clinton signing the banking modernization act and getting rid of Glass-Steagal which kept the banks and banksters from robbing us blind.

Sorry, but RFK jr is an idiot. That does not mean the medical industry are saints.

To put the ADA in context, the rate of price increases was significantly worse BEFORE the ADA. On top of that, if you had a 'pre-existing condition' and were seeking personal medical insurance, you were SOL. Young adults, still in college or not yet established in a corporate job often had to do without insurance because even if their parents had a corporate job with 'group insurance' the kid was left to fend for himself. If people were poor or self employed without a 'strong income' medical insurance was often far too expensive. The system was rigged (still mostly is) that without the insurance company setting the prices, doctors and especially hospitals and drug companies charged MUCH higher prices. ADA gave people options for getting affordable insurance that had minimum standards of coverage.

Yes, the medical industry, especially the insurance companies are STILL criminals, kicking people while they are down, but don't blame that on Obama. He got the best deal he could at the time and it is up to us to force congress to give us a better deal, as opposed to the 'repeal but don't replace' strategy Republicans have promised ever since the ADA was passed.

Just have to say, Bush had been president for more than seven years before the crash of 2008. Maybe he had some responsibility?

have to say, as someone who had Covid early on, I REALLY wish I had the vaccine then instead of a year later. The evidence is very clear it helped, even though too many people were told to be afraid of it, and far too many people avoided wearing masks to slow the spread of a deadly disease, while now they think it is a good idea for ICE agents to wear masks to avoid being identified while doing 'law enforcement'.

But hey, we can agree it is important to reverse the movement of "tremendous amounts of wealth from the bottom of the top" which was certainly aided by the huge tax cuts for the wealthy, signed by Bush and another signed by Trump.

I realize that RFK Junior doesn’t have all his mental faculties. A lifetime of drug use will do that. I think he is actually sincere in his beliefs even though a lot of his beliefs are wrong.

Obama care did not reform healthcare. It made it worse. If you check the net worth of Barack Obama you will see that he has an obscene amount of wealth. What did he do to attain that obscene amount of wealth?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_presidents_of_the_United_States_by_net_worth

Obama‘s current net worth according to Wikipedia is two hundred and fifty million million dollars. He’s not a good guy.

By every metric healthcare corruption in America is worse now than it has ever been. Life expectancy is declining in America and healthcare is more expensive than it’s ever been. Obama is not stupid. He knew this was gonna be the outcome.

Obamacare started out as a republican plan. It is pretty much Romney care. Today healthcare is 20% of the US GDP. One Americans had the best healthcare it was about 3% of our GDP.

We should’ve had single pair cause that would’ve held a medical mafia accountable and there wouldn’t be any theft like there is today by the medical mafia. We could have Medicare for all and instead of having these filthy dirty criminal insurance companies managing our tax money for healthcare it would go back to the way it used to be and the government would run it. There wouldn’t be some middleman there to bribe politicians.

When I heard that Luigi Mangione shot a United healthcare parasite I felt glee and so did a lot of other Americans. The affordable care act was a scam and just another way to move wealth from the bottom to the top. Obama knew what he was doing. If we had had single pair like the rest of the civilized world does, Americans would be able to afford healthcare.

Today the leading cause a preventable death and injury in the United States is its healthcare system. What we are seeing in this country can best be described as a medical holocaust. The cruel exploitation of human suffering for obscene profit is a kind of shit a Nazi would do.

Of course push signed huge tax cuts for the filthy rich as a way to move money from the bottom to the top. Obama simply did it in a sneakier way.

The way to reform healthcare is to round up all the corporate criminals involved and there are a lot of of them. The United States should be using the French model for healthcare because they do it right and they do it for half of what we do it for per capita

I am all for a better solution.

Republicans have NEVER proposed a serious solution.

I was paying attention to the health care crisis (Had a wife with serious chronic health problems), and the cost of medical services and medicine was growing at a very alarming rate.

I was paying attention during the negotiations in congress, saw the games Republicans played, noticed how they pushed for changes, then when they got the changes they wanted, to make it less - not better, they backed away their support anyway. Their sabotage was masterful. Yes, even many Democrats were 'influenced' by the insurance industry. I am sure Obama could have jumped up and down and pouted, thrown a tantrum, but it would not have gotten him, or you, Medicare for all, or any other proper healthcare as is seen in other civilized countries.

If you want that, push to get money OUT of politics, completely. Democrats had tried and made some progress on that front, but later the conservative SCOTUS undermined it by declaring that money was equivalent to speech and so they could not limit the expenditure of money in campaigning.

I have not followed Obama's wealth. Pretty sure Obama did not blatantly collect bribes like Trump has done, but he is popular and popular people sell books and get paid for speeches.

Saw the rollout of the ACA, and no, it did not solve everything, but it did solve some problems and did not make anything worse than was already happening.

Yes, ACA was essentially the same concept as RomneyCare, and yet STILL all the Republicans opposed it. Why?

Democrats have proposed Medicare for all, and yet the votes are not there.

Wondering where your emotions are coming from about the ACA? I have noticed the Republican attacks on it are consistently vague as to their reasons, and never tell us how they would make it better in a realistic way. From what I have seen, they never even tried.

If you look at the numbers, you need to see the trends BEFORE the ACA. Look at the Insurance company policies in place before the ACA. 'Pre-existing conditions' was a real disaster for real people. Affordability was a real problem for people who did not get it through their employers (ACA provided a path to get affordable insurance). LOTS of employers did not give their employees medical insurance (ACA forced employers over a certain size to do so). Lots of policies were so lousy they were little more than a 'fig leaf', not helpful at all if the person got a serious injury or illness, ACA set minimum standards...

If you help get something better, I will vote for it. Until then, I am not willing to go back to the disaster we had before the ACA.

Obama‘s wealth is obscene. It is estimated between 60 and 65 million. True public servants are not that vulgar.

As far as the affordable character improving anything, it made things worse. People still can’t afford healthcare and now it’s because it has gotten so expensive simply to satisfy the greed of corporations. It infused more money into an already corrupt industry. It did nothing to reform healthcare. It made things worse.

This may surprise you but it was the bush administration That filed the biggest lawsuit against a healthcare company and it resulted in that company paying a $1.9 billion fine. Of course nobody was arrested. That company was called Columbia HCA. The two chief “owners” Of that company were Rick Scott and Senator Bill Frist. Not surprisingly, both of those punks were Republicans and nobody was even arrested for massive massive theft.

The biggest killer and the biggest thief in the United States is the healthcare industry. It makes the people running big oil look like angels.

If you get a chance google Death by Medicine. It was written by a bunch of PhD’s and two MDs. You also might wanna see the movie Sicko by Michael Moore.

If you wanna go even deeper check out where the United States his ranked for quality healthcare and cost per capita.

The United States for all the money it spends is ranked One slot above Cuba.

I thought it would be great to have a black president Until I realized Barack Obama Obama is not black at least not culturally black. Obama is 50% white and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that. Bill Clinton even though he’s a snake in a lot of ways did a better job than Obama. He balanced the budget And the worst thing he did until he signed the banking modernization act Was he was getting blowjobs from an intern. They don’t call Bill Clinton slick Willie for nothing.

There’s not much room for honor in American politics. American politics is based around the philosophy of Machiavelli.

I will agree the healthcare industry is terrible. You might want to look at Kaiser Permanente as an example of 'better than most'. While I have heard people with horror stories, and I have a couple of my own, on the whole they let the doctors decide your treatment, not a bureaucrat looking to save the company money.

One of the fundamental problems in cost we see in the entire industry, is that modern medicine is so advanced, we have treatments now for things that used to just kill you, or you just 'lived with'. Most of these treatments are expensive, in part because the research companies are focused on recurring profits and not one-time cures. Surgeries are available for many things previously considered untreatable and surgeries are accounted as hideously expensive. Patients with problems such as cancer live longer, requiring more treatment. Yeah, medical care back in the 60's was much cheaper. It also covered a lot less.

Another problem came when people learned to sue when the results were not what they wanted. This was given credibility when the 'medical boards' refused to revoke the licenses of terrible doctors. The result was two fold. Doctors had to carry expensive malpractice insurance, and doctors were compelled to practice medical care 'defensively' ordering more tests and treatments than reasonably necessary.

The true villains are the ineffective medical boards, accountants at hospitals, the CEOs of pharmaceutical companies and most of all, insurance companies whose business model is to collect 'premiums'... oh, sorry, no, they have lawyers to protect their right to not spend that money on you. Another 'lesser' villain is the AMA and Congress for limiting the number of doctors and 'non-physician clinicians' in the country, meaning they have less time for thoughtful diagnosis.

Another source of costs are the outrageous costs of medical equipment such as MRI, EKG, XRAY, and other diagnostic tools due to standards that 'sound reasonable' until you look closer in a lot of cases. I have designed in industries that did not tolerate failures or even errors in their function and required durability over decades and can tell you the medical industry is very constrained and thereby limited in it's adaptability and innovation.

Then there are the Venture capitalists who are both leeches and incompetents (by design) and who truly oppose actual innovation.

Just to be clear, the insurance companies were the ones fighting the ACA the most.

So, while I hear your disappointment in Obama, being less than you wanted him to be, I see him as someone who tried to make things better, but was limited in what he could do, so he made the best deal he could to help the most people he could.

Yes, we CAN do better, but to do so we need to go in with clear eyes, because the true villains will spread lies and confusion, will lobby for their own piece of the pie and generally paint those trying to make a positive difference as the villain to be hated, perhaps for not being 'good enough'...

The fundamental problem is that healthcare shouldn’t be about profit but it is and in America it’s not just about profit it’s about obscene profit.

Corporate America is a crime against humanity. One insurance company might be better than the other But they can have a change in their board of directors and CEO and become worse than the other ones.

I’m not gonna make any excuses for Barack Obama. He was one of our smartest presidents and he knew where this was gonna go.

Another sleazy thing Obama did was nothing when he sat by and watched Russia take Crimea.

Don’t be surprised if there’s some Barack Obama Jeffrey Epstein connection like that is with Epstein and Bill Clinton. Epstein was Putin’s money guy for a long time.

And the Democratic primary between Hillary and Obama I was campaigning for Hillary Because she wanted single payer healthcare which would’ve actually reformed the criminal industry known as the American healthcare system.

Medicare for all would’ve fixed everything that would’ve created accountability For hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry And it probably would’ve allowed doctors to have some autonomy which would’ve allowed them to work for the patient and not some corporate gang of criminals.

There was nothing good about Obamacare. The medical mafia is stealing more than ever and more people are dying because there was no accountability.

Name the government agency that oversees hospitals and doctors. That’s a trick question. There is no federal agency that has any authority over hospitals doctors. States Have medical boards That can get rid of bad doctors, they usually don’t Get rid of bad doctors but if they do, All that doctor has to do is go to another state and kill & maim there and get paid to do it.

There is no accountability under Obamacare care. It is straight up theft.

I have always laughed about the National Prayer breakfast. A bunch of sanctimonious politicians pretending to be Christians for a few hours. Republicans, wolves in sheep's clothing do not practice love for their neighbors. Neighbors are to be fleeced and not loved. No wonder church attendance is down. Republicans using religion for political purposes are the height of hypocrisy. Gives Christianity a bad name. Jesus is watching you.

He was only given the job to keep him from running for President. While only having a small following, he would have taken enough votes away from Trump to throw the election to Harris. Harris only lost the election by less than 2% of the votes. Many of the vax deniers who voted for Trump would have loved RFJ/jr.

Had the Dems realized that, they should have supported RFK/Jr.

people forget that Bubba wasn't a President when hanging at Lolita Island. If they go after Democrats, I'm sure there are far more Republicans hanging at Epstein Island than Democrats.

It is amazing that Comer thinks by focusing on the Clintons he can protect Trump. Hillary has very little to do with Epstein so not sure why she is even involved. As for BIll, he is a great debater and Comer will regret calling him. This is obvious a political stunt that will backfire when they do not call Trump to account.

In this case I rather think T has forgotten he acted being religious to get more votes and followers. This has to do with the beginning of dementia. He says what he thinks and cannot hide it anymore.
