Today is Monday August 11, 2025, and this is your news and preview of today's show.

The FBI has deployed heavily armed tactical units, dressed in military gear, to key intersections around Washington, D.C. ahead of protests planned for this weekend. These federal forces include teams trained for counterterrorism and hostage rescue, equipped with long rifles, ballistic shields, and armored vehicles. This deployment is unusual for domestic policing and the largest seen since the early 1990s.

In a statement on social media, President Donald Trump called for homeless individuals in the capital to “move out immediately,” promising to relocate them “far from the Capital” to make the city “safer and more beautiful.” The president plans a news conference to detail this initiative. Meanwhile, crime statistics show that violent crime in D.C. has actually declined by 26% compared to last year.

Recent economic reports reveal that U.S. exports have dropped sharply since March, a development experts attribute to retaliatory trade measures sparked by Trump’s tariffs. Major trading partners like Canada and the European Union are buying fewer American goods, while tourism dollars are also declining. These trends risk worsening the U.S. trade deficit despite the administration’s promises to strengthen American industry.

President Trump took to social media to accuse Nancy Pelosi and her husband of outperforming hedge funds in 2024 through alleged insider trading. He called Pelosi a “disgusting degenerate” and questioned investigations into their financial activities.

In another early morning post, President Trump insulted Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, questioning her intelligence. He also boasted about recently passing a cognitive exam at a military hospital.
