Today is Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, and this is your news and preview of today's show.
Donald Trump now claims he ended his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein because Epstein was “stealing staff” from Mar-a-Lago. When asked if Virginia Giuffre was one of those staffers, he didn’t answer. Giuffre said she was recruited by Epstein while working at Mar-a-Lago. Despite Trump’s claims that Epstein was banned from Mar-a-Lago, records show Epstein remained a member through at least 2007, after his arrest.
Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell has written to House Oversight Chair James Comer, offering to testify before Congress in exchange for clemency, immunity, and a delay until after her Supreme Court appeal. Legal experts say the request allows her to maintain her right to plead the Fifth, giving her leverage to control what she does or doesn’t reveal. Her letter has sparked speculation over whether she’s trying to shield powerful individuals by negotiating a deal.
Trump is also facing questions about his recent trade deals. His Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, couldn’t confirm whether the Vietnam agreement had been signed, and other deals appear to remain in early “framework” stages with no formal documents or confirmations from partner countries.
During a press event aboard Air Force One, Trump gave conflicting answers about Epstein, brushed off questions as “fake news,” and suggested he might skip the G20 summit, blaming South Africa’s “very bad policies.”
He also took to social media to attack late-night hosts and pressured Senator Chuck Grassley to abandon the blue slip tradition, aiming to speed up judicial appointments.
Also, Tim Miller joins us in a Substack Live to talk about the Trump-Epstein scandal.
