I believe that countries usually own 200 miles of water off their shores. Since this won’t work in this case the strait should be divided up by the countries that surround it. Like 3 of the Great Lakes are divided down the middle between US and Canada. Of the other 2 Great Lakes, one is completely in the US and the other is in Canada.
It makes no difference who owns what if Iran controls the whole thing anyway by shutting it down with mines or missiles. Iran cannot be allowed to continue being the toll booth operator.
If any toll should be collected it should be to the USA for having to send our military to keep it open. Where is the rest of the world?
I disagree with you on this one Russ. The rest of the world is at home, wishing that trump hadn’t started this whole shit show (with Israel’s help) in the first place. I know that the world has been living with blankets over their heads, but sometimes that’s the best place to be. This is an imperfect world to begin with and for someone who has a mental illness to start a war that he can’t finish, is devastating for the 80% of the people who are happy just to get a paycheque and housing, heat, and food. This war has brought something to light, namely that Iran has allies who are willing to sell them high technology weapons and probably nuclear equipment and knowledge.
What exactly do you disagree? Are you saying we should have left Iran do what they want? Iran is not a normal country. It is an arsenal with miles of underground tunnels full of weapons to be used against us and just a few steps away from being another North Korea.
Iran was given the green light by Obama to develop their missiles and other weapons on the thin promise not to develop nukes. We now see they cheated on that.

By that I mean that there’s been no obvious strategy worked out by top trained military personnel before the first shot was fired. It’s just a free for all.
